With development work starting in the early 1970’s, the Leopard 2 officially entered service with the Germany army in 1979. It is a testament to its design and continuous development that today, over 40 years after entering service, the Leopard 2 is widely considered to be one of the best main battle tanks. The Leopard 2, in its various variants, is used by over 20 countries.
The Armortek Leopard 2 kit is based on the Leopard 2A4 variant – more specifically, it is Production Batch 5 of the Leopard 2 that originally entered service in 1988. This was the first version that was designated the 2A4 and visually the most obvious difference between this production batch and subsequent 2A4 production batches was the change to the fixing points of the front skirts.
The Armortek 1:6 scale Leopard 2A4 is sold as a kit for assembly and can be turned into an Radio Controlled (RC) Tank through the addition of options.

To reserve your kit, we offer 3 payment plans:
(i) Pay a deposit of £700 now and the remainder prior to shipping of the kit
(ii) Pay a deposit of £700 now and then pay in monthly instalments until shipping
(iii) Pay the full amount now.

Please note that our kits are produced in limited batches (LIMITED EDITION).
We may occasionally re-run a kit, but there may be several years between batches.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- When you reserve your kit, you will need to pay a deposit of £700. Should you cancel your order after this point, we reserve the right to charge you an admin fee of £150. (see our Terms of Sale)
- The shipping date is an ESTIMATE. Due to a variety of factors that date may move either way by a couple of months.
- Shipping will only take place after full payment has been received.
Motion Pack
Turn your kit into an RC tank with the motion pack
The pack includes 2 HE electric motors for drive, servos for elevation/ slew as well as an electronics pack and the mechanical parts needed.
Sound Pack
Bring your RC tank alive with real high definition sounds
The pack includes the electronics and speakers needed to bring engine start up, acceleration sounds (proportional to RC transmitter throttle position) gun firing and many more. Digital recordings made from real engines.
Recoil Pack
Add main gun recoil and flash to your RC tank.
The pack includes the motor, LEDs, electronics and mechanical components to add realistic main run recoil and recovery to your tank.
Smoke Pack
Add realistic exhaust smoke to your RC tank.
The pack includes the smoke box, heating unit, fan and the electronics needed. The fan activates when the tank moves.

We ship our kits worldwide and over the last 20 years have shipped to customers in over 40 countries.
For all shipments outside the UK, the customer will be responsible for local VAT and any applicable duties. You will normally be contacted by the shipping company to pay any charges due before delivery.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Whilst every effort has been made to describe and illustrate our model accurately on this web site we reserve the right to vary the kit content, design, or materials used. All dimensions and weights used throughout this website are approximate.
Our kits are made predominately of metal, but may contain some rubber part (tyres and bump stops) as well as some perspex (periscopes) and resin detail parts (axe, shovel, jack etc).
Where feasible, our kits have scale thickness armour – which is one of the reasons why they are so heavy and robust. However, in some cases, for engineering or practical reasons the thickness of the parts may not be to scale. An example is the mudguards on the tanks which we make from 1mm steel. If we were to make these to scale thickness, they would not be robust enough.
