how to dismantle

Post by Steen Vøler »

hi tankers

i need to dismantle the part that fits over the inner part of the gun barreld connects to the elevation part. it was to Mount the Black powder gun unit, but i do not have that unit and I need to bore out the barrel to fit a flash unit instead.

There is 2 bolts on the side and a screw on the top, but even when theese are unscrewed I cannot take the part of. It can only be moved side to side and do not slide backwards.

looked at the instructions but cannot find the solutions here.

attached is a Picture of the part that I am describing

Hello Steen hope you are fine long time not spoken. The block that was for the blankfire unit is screwd on. When you lose the bolts off the elevation block then you can turn off the block off the blankfire, so it was with mine.

Hi William

Good to hear from you again - hope that you and familiy will have a good Christmas and a happy new year.

I have taken the bolts out and also the small screw on top

However, it is really hard to un-screw the gunpowder part. I used close to an hour woth tools to try to unscrew the unit, but I have only managed to unscrew 2mm.

It seems like the unit is one part with a drilled part coming out of the mantlet. When I turn the gunpowder house unit, I can feel that the barrel part also turns.

In the attached picture I have taken out 2 screws from the yellow part that holds the elevation unit and this comes of fine.

Also removed the grub screw where the green line is

The red cirkel - when I turn the square part the hole barrel also turns.

Should it not be possible to just get the square part of or is it 1 unit that is machined drilled and goes all the wat through the mantlet to where the gun barrel is attached.

Thanks William

I think I will be pragmatic on this and just bore out the whole tube, leaving everything as installed per previous owner.

It seems like it have been locktided all way through so it is impossible to remove :-(

cheers and also merry christmas & happy newyear to you and family
cheers

Hello Steen,

appropriate heat will loosen the loctite. Just in case its maybe worth to try it with a heat-gun or a small e.g. gas flame (I've small one from Proxxon e.g.)on the thread area ?

Merry christmas and a happy new year from Cologne,

Uwe :)

Hi Guys

Mystery solved.
The innerbarrel was mounted with 2 bolts just behind the pig-head structure. these 2 bolts went in and also tightened on the barrel inside tupe. When theese was loosened I could take of the whole barrel
