Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Vacation starts and the Jagdtiger just arrived today. Short Backgroundstory: The last Years I build an BT Kingtiger and do much scaleparts and scalerebuilding on it. But a BT is a BT and in January the decition was made to buy a AT Jagdtiger.
I live in Rhineland Palatinate and at the late Wartime (spring 1945) there was a few Jagdtigers around here. Schwetzingen (JT 131) and Neustadt Weinstraße (JT 323 and 331) is only a few km from here and also in Schifferstadt was 3 Jagdtigers for a short time. In the Village Böhl-Iggelheim next to Schifferstadt was heavy combat between the Wehrmacht and american Troops. One Jagdtiger was blown up by his Crew after the fights.
Here a few Pics from the 90`during the recovery of the Rearplate with the two Door-Hatches. It was found while gardening and is now owned by a private collector. He also have a Sprocketwheel from another JT. It was used as a carousel for Children till the late 80`
But enough history, now the the Buildreport starts. First I milled the Hatch-Holes in the Bottomplate. After that I made a few drytests with the lower Hull. I think I will build the one from Böhl-Iggelheim with the tactical No. 224.
regards
Sascha

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Hi all,
the last Time I do a bit CAD and thinking about what to change or improve. On the armour I tested some welding torch imitation (used a padsaw with metal blade)
I dont`t like the rod holder and make them new from pics. I also make new C-shackles, but they are in progress (much filing even CNC...
)
best regards
Sascha

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Few Details added, bigger Bolts on the exhaust Covers, some M3 srews for the C-Shackle holders to replace the M2,5 nuts. And printed a new MG-34 barrel.

Re: Jagdtiger No.41 in Germany
Not much time to build the Jagdtiger, but still a small progress. I milled some brass sheets (0.2mm) on my CNC. It was the thinnest things I ever milled. Only 60% survived
don´t ask me where the rest is gone...
Now I have to start the mass production.
best regards
Sascha
