Hello John, thank you for your kind comments.
Yes, it was a good day with many questions, and the usual one, "have you make that yourself".
I, of course, explained that the Comet is a complete kit of parts produced and supplied by Armortek,which you build over many enjoyable months.
I can tell you John, that when the Comet bursts into life, the looks on the faces of the visitors is well worth all your effort.

I will be following your build with interest. The Forum is the place for all your questions, the help here is second to none.

Now where did that Tiger go.....

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum. I will be at Tankfest for the 2 days as I only live about 5 miles up the road and I am a volunteer at the Museum as well, we run our tanks there on weekends and in the week. Be sure to look me up on the South West Tank Club site next to the Amortek area and any advice you may want only to happy to help.

Your Comet looking good Mick and plenty of interest as well.

Thanks Dennis, we are coming down on Thursday. I want to have a look at the new exhibits in the museum, on Friday. I hope we can bring some better weather, a bit like last year will do!

I have to say I'm most impressed with your trailor as a way to display the Comet

A bit of elevation to enhance the detail but also a bit of distance from the punters - seems like a perfect platform for such a great looking model

Thank you Adrian, the trailer has been a success. I was a little concerned the Comet may well bounce about in transit. However, the opposite has proved to be the case, and she sits on the road a treat.
You are correct about the Comet/trailer display properties, the height and distance works well. I looked for the safety of the visitors....tiny fingers etc,. With the side boards down, this keeps just enough distance between prying hands, and the tank. I know how the spectator feels....is it plastic or what? I had that question many times.
We have a couple of weeks before the next show....Welshpool Model Show held at Welshpool Airport, 9th and 10th of July.
I believe the Tank Club is attending among many other model..boats...model aircraft....tanks....helicopters....steam engines etc,. ......Mick

Hello Phil,the Onslow Park Show is August Bank Holiday weekend. 28/29th August. It is mainly a vintage steam rally with many other displays, vintage cars, motorcycles, and so on. Located just off the Shrewsbury Bypass. I have applied for a 'models' area pass/ticket, to display the Comet.

At the moment the Iron Duke is receiving a smoker upgrade. As you can see I managed to destroy the heating element. So, I thought I may as well replace the 'smoker' with the Armortek upgrade, while it is stripped down.

I have been well pleased with the 'shows' and the interest shown by visitors. The 'sounds' make all the difference, had a further round of applause while showing the Comet at Welshpool Air Show.

I will be adding the weld lines, bolts to the wheels, etc, and various other touches during the Autumn/Winter.

Hello Mick

You dont need an extra switch. The auxiliary module has a spare electronic switch channel which you can use to control your lights from your transmitter. Just connect the spare input to a spare channel on your reciever and connect your lights (24volt bulbs) to the spare outputs.
