The effect dries less shiny of course, and I will use the tootbrush to smoothen it a little too.

You like it? Or is it overdone?

Did some experiments with oil... Never really worked with it, didn't even know what I wanted to achieve myself!

Hmmm... yes the surfaces have a 'richer' spectrum of colors but it doesn't really 'add' a lot (so far).

Marco

Love this post, but I have a few questions to ask?

Do you add the wash and rust/weathering effects prior to covering with a layer of lacquer and when you do add wash to the large areas what do you use to take the access off?

Many Thanks Allan

Hello Marco,

If you look at your nr 3 it is upside down,
you can see that the biggest inner cirkel is on top and the small cirkel is down.

I made also this mistake on my king tiger with the nr 308, but for me it was to late and to mutch
work to change. It is difficult to see the little difference in the cirkels of the nr 3

best regards Yves

Honestly, I never knew, so I guess I'll consider it something that makes Gunther more unique. Just like me and my personal flaws.

Let's pretend it never happened!

Oops only see this now!

The rough way I handle my tanks means the paint chips all the time so i try to get all the protection I can get. I varnish after almost every layer. And sometimes an extra layer 'just because'. I varnish after painting and after layers of weathering. All with the most matte varnish I can find (Vallejo Acryllic spraycans).

I use kitchen towel to whipe of the access wash. Basically I do not even care what I use, old t-shirts, whatever. All the access left in all in the nooks and crannies is what I do it for (together with the discoloring the wash does to the paint, blending the colors together).

Not very refined, I know haha!
