Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Pete,

Again, thank you for the great advice. I have aligned the axles perfectly at 45 degrees and there just isn’t much room. I know machining would be much cleaner, but I may have to consider the grinding option. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Wael

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Pete, Here is the image I referred to in the pm. And here is my question for anyone’s future reference I have another question with regards to the spacers/flanges on part of the axle shaft. Please see pic for more clarification. Does this also get machined down? The reason I’m asking is two fold. On...

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Thank you Phil and Peter! I really appreciate your help. I agree that the spacers need to be machined down since their current diameter doesn’t leave too much room for adjacent wheel movement. Any recommendations as to how much to take off? Would armortek current tiger spacers work for what I’m tryi...

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Here are 2 pics better describing what I mean One photo shows the axle not compressed while the other is binding against that big wheel spacer. Currently, when I tighten everything up, those big spacers are NOT rotating and I think they should be. My question is: should they rotate freely when every...

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Phil,

I think your talking about the copper washer/spacer. Where I’m talking about the big spacer that fits between the wheels such as part #13 in the assembly instructions I posted. Sorry if I didnt explain myself a little better. Again, thanks for your input and help

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Thank you so much Phil. I completely understand what to do now and will follow your advice. But I am still a little perplexed about the spacers not being able to rotate because if one axle is compressed enough to make contact to an adjacent spacer, the immobilized spacers will prevent the compressed...

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Thank you Steen, I received the assembly instructions. And thanks to the rest of the guys for the words of encouragement. I think I know what I need to do now but with the exception of the spacers. Steen answer seemed to have confused me. Again, Should they rotate once everything is tighten up? Stee...

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Hi Steen

Good to hear from you and thanks for your help. I really don’t have a preference which way they go, I just want to make sure the wheels are aligned correctly before moving on. Do you have any input on my other 2 questions? I look forward to your response.

Wael

Re: Tiger 1 tracks slipping and comming off sprockets

Adrian, The spacers spin freely when things are NOT tighten up. There is no corrosion on the axles or spacers. This only happens when I tighten the back wheel, spacer, and front wheel with the M4 bolt going into the axle. This means the inner ring of the bearings is pushing against the spacer and to...
