Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent
Stephen, Lovely job! Great research. For fiddly little items, there is a handy jewelers' paste called Technoflux which is thermo-insulating and also stops flux and solder running where it is not wanted, eg into hinges. The residue just washes off with water and a toothbrush. New arcane research topi...

Re: Bren gun carrier
Hi William, There are web comments on 25pdrs being associated with the turretless versions of the M3/M5 light tank, saying these vehicles were used as AOP's or "gun tractors". But so far the only photo I have found shows a 17pdr being towed in the desert. However in terms of a viable, plausible, and...

Re: Bren gun carrier
Hi William,
I think the Bren occasionally pulled the 6pdr Anti Tank Gun. The 25pdr plus limber may have been too heavy.

Bergepanther Tow Bar Set
Hello Bergepanther Owners, As promised, I have made a batch of seven "Schwere Abschleppstangen", Heavy Tow Bars, nominally for the Bergepanther, but also used with the Famo 18t Recovery Halftrack. Hence the inclusion of all three coupling types. Five sets have been pre-sold to customers ( :D thank y...

Re: Soldering Iron Recommendation
Hi David, Lack of cleanliness, too much or too little heat, and flux problems have caused me grief from time to time with both soft and hard soldering jobs. It is rarely down to the "wrong" soldering hardware. I built a kick-ass resistance soldering machine from a 500w lighting transformer and a Var...

Hi Stephen,
Lovely rifling! Very informative photos on the taper turning. Is the offset fitting on the Warco tailstock a Warco or third party item?
Thanks and congrats on making TankMod such a great success.
cheers Fabrice

Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent
Stephen, Aagh! So your lovingly created "100 Gal Fuel Tank" is just the biggest chemical crapper outside of Boeing? And the wire? Good grief! To discourage unauthorised loitering? Constipation is not a problem in the jungle. The word does not even exist in the local languages. So the prickly...

Hi Günter,
Fantastic work! Latches are spot-on
Look forward to seeing a video of the winch working. I have often wondered how the hinged pully looked in action.
Kind regards
Fabrice

Hi Stephen, Kevin is now the official Archivist for you thread  Thanks! I like the water vapour solution for the reasons you indicate. However you need to build a custom system to generate enough vapour to get decent blasts of "exhaust". The well tried and integrated oil systems work well and ...

Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent
Hi Stephen, Even as I sat trapped in the A30/M5 linear-car-park today, alas returning from a funeral in Cornwall, I wondered what artifice you were about. Peachey Cent exhausts I see. Lovely job. Only one question. I take it now that you are not planning to add a working smoker system in this case? ...

Hi Vincent,
"Steel and iron" tracks would be a great Panther upgrade. Are they investment ( lost-wax ) castings or die-castings?
Kind regards

Re: My 251 build.
Hi Dennis, re 1/6th Dragon 2cm Flak. Ebay is probably going to be your best bet. The good people hereabouts also have a knack for spotting these rarer items. Q: does the 251 kit have a working differential or is there sufficient play in the drive train to fudge the issue entirely? What was the set u...
