Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

Success at last, finally getting used to the terminology and with a few great pointers from the forum I have motion, sound and turret movement up to now. The rest will come when I start final assembly.

Thank you all, I can now get back to enjoying myself with the build. 👍

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

To get them both driving forwards with the stick straight ahead, you need to enable Elevon mixing in the transmitter. The instructions are here: https://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7917 Adrian. Hi Adrian, the DX8 is a little different, I have completed upto the channel assignmen...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

Youngjae, thanks power is 24.6v steady. Tom, from reading your last post I realised what the issue was and it is now delivering power to the motors. I now need to get that sorted as to get them both driving forwards I have to put the leaver in the NW position and not at the same speed either 😖. Gett...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

O kay, Update. I have bound the receiver to the transmitter, I have checked all ports work with a servo, but when I connect to Module A and the motors there is nothing. I confirm I have 24v going into Module A but can not get a reading coming out of the unit. I have checked the fuse in the power Box...

Phil, I have said it before your attention to detail is second to none, it’s fascinating watching your build. Now you have the 3D printer there is no stopping you. 👍

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have set my DX8 up as per the post on the forum but still no luck getting the motors to move. I dont want to try anything else at the moment just in case but have ordered a couple of servos which when connected should tell me if there is anything up with the AR8010t...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

Andy, have you bound the receiver to the transmitter? Have you read the guide in the Knowledge Base? Binding just allows the transmitter to talk to the receiver, it's simple to do and the instructions will be in the Spectrum manual or have a look at one of the many YouTube videos on the subject. Th...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC

Hi Adrian, that is what I am starting at the basic set up, I have not added anything else yet. The power module has power in and out but module A power in but doesn’t seem to be putting any out, I am not sure if it’s because you need a signal from the dx8 which it isn’t getting or there isn’t any po...

DX8 advice for new to RC

Hi, I have reached the point where I need to test run the electrics on my Chieftain. Only issue is this is my first RC model and with the terminology aimed at aircraft I am finding it a little confusing. The DX8 is set to mode 2 and I have a AR8010t receiver which it is bound to. A little naively I ...

Re: Confused

Phil, I will do that. The diameter on the cupola is definitely smaller than the hinge block. Thanks Again. Andy

Re: Confused

Thanks Phil, the thread on the cupola is M4 but the hinge block is more a M5 size with a coarser thread. My only solution is to try and file the hinge block thread down to accept a M4 dia, which I think is going to be the only solution. Andy By the way your build is fantastic there is no way I can e...

is it just me but the block hinge thread it too large for the cupola thread it’s supposed to go into?

What is the best solution ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Hi Phil, your attention to details is outstanding and to say I am envious would be an understatement. I am enjoying following your build and your tips are going to be invaluable when I get to those areas. In preparation however I was wondering what size is the piano hinge? Andy
