Re: Adam's Panzer III build

You know, I'm really actually liking the green of my primer oddly enough. I may do the next one in that color even though it may not be a traditional color.

Priming and painting

I primed the suspension arms and I think it looks good! I’ve started painting the wheels with an airbrush paint. I may look to try to match using an auto paint, it may be cheaper. Anyone done this?

Re: Adam's Panzer III build

So I’ve tried out a few different filler compounds now (Milliput, JB Weld, Bondo) and I’ve settled with the Milliput. I’m currently finishing the suspension arms and even attempted a weld. What do you think? Too much weld or am I overthinking? https://i.imgur.com/okBUltF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KwwF...

Spray Booth

Hopefully things can move a bit more quickly now. The weather has not been very cooperative for painting so I ended up getting a spray booth I can use indoors.

No video!? That one box is longer than your son...

That is an amazing view. Once I retire I need to get out to the mountains myself.

Re: Transmitter/Receivers

I ended up going with the DX8 and AR8010T receiver. I'll update on how straight forward it is after bench testing but I'm expecting low drama.

Transmitter/Receivers

Hello forum, I checked the knowledge base but many of the posts are years old. I have to buy a transmitter and receiver for my PIII and am curious what others have found to be the easiest to use. It looks like the DX series is very popular but that information seems to be a few years old. Please chi...

Re: Using Loctite on motor mounts

Wow, good to know. I’m putting together my PIII right now and it really drives home why they want loctite in other locations too.

They’ve been on holiday since mid-December. I believe the shop opens up again on Monday.

Metal Filler Material

Hello forum,

I was hoping hear from others what you use to fill the screw heads and other holes/imperfections which can then be sanded and painted over. What do you use, what have you used in the past and what are the pluses and minuses of different materials that you have used?

Thanks,
Adam

Re: Adam's Panzer III build

I should have the motion and smoke kits arriving some time this month. I'm only putting all of this together loosely to kind of see the final product to plan for the painting and finishing details. I will then be taking everything apart for some fine tuning. This is definitely the largest model I've...

I thought I’d jump ahead a bit to get a feel for what she’s going to look like.
