Re: Tim's Panzer 111 project

Thanks Stephen, i am sure that some jobs are easier with a mill but i cannot really justify getting one, so will stick to my Proxxon and hand tools. I am pretty happy with most of what i've done so far, but i will soon have to work out how to re-jig the rear end to get the correct look. I see 3 main...

Re: Tim's Panzer 111 project

Did a couple more jobs last night to keep nibbling away at the substantial task list. Modified the drivers armoured visor so that the opening was rectangular rather than oval, and then re-shaped the outer part. This now looks a great deal closer to the original and even better when a vision block ha...

Re: TankFest 2018

Hi Mark, I know of a few other museums that do offers like this.
Museum of Army flying allows a free return visit within 12 months.
Same for the Light Infantry museum in Winchester.
I cannot remember if Duxford did a deal when i was there in january.

Re: TankFest 2018

Not sure where everyone is going to go, with that new building in progress.
They seem to be rapidly running out of space.

Re: Tim's Panzer 111 project

Here are a few pix to show progress to date. Not sure if i can actually call it progress as i started out with a complete and working tank and now have this.... IMG_2552s.jpg I tried to remove the swing arms so that i could re-profile them. They have been glued onto the shafts & the cross drilled & ...

Re: Tim's Panzer 111 project

I have become really bored with that sound unit, so decided to take the bull by the horns and started the Panzer 3 refurb. A lot of the nuts and bolts were quite loose, so a rebuild was on the cards. I have stripped down the tank so that i could work on the left side lower hull. Motors & all electri...

Thanks Stephen & Malcolm.
That index is very handy and a great idea.
An index for your panzer iii ausf.N build would also be good.

Cheers

Re: Panzer iii MP-Klappe

Hi all, So far no info from a number of sources, so i tried a change of tack and looked at build photos online of the excellent Dragon 1/35 Pz.Bef.Wg.III Ausf.J. After a few mins, i found exactly what i was looking for. Some dimensions would help, but i should be OK from this photo. IMGP7001-33.jpg ...

Panzer iii MP-Klappe

Hi all, trying to find some detailed pix and or a plan showing the MP-Klappe unit fitted to a Panzer iii ausf.J instead of the hull mg. These were fitted to the PanzerBefehlswagen III Ausf.J that i am considering. I have a few pix in which i can see a small vertically aligned oval hole in the armour...

Hi, I saw some for sale at the Open Day, but was unsure if they were the right size & profile for the panzer 111.

Hi Adrian, the pop is when the amp is powered on.
There is no other sound.
In Encoder mode, the light stays on when i try to play a sound, but then goes out..
