Re: Mk. IV No. 50 - Beutepanzer Female (Liesel)

Hi Chris, Your last post of photos has raised another anomaly. The positioning of the mud deflection chute EK0128 and EK0128M at the rear top of each side assemblies. I see you have moved yours from the position shown in the assembly instructions. I first thought that you had fitted the rear top pla...

Re: Mark IV 007 Build

Very generous to post these details Steve. It is just this sort of helpful advice and sharing of research and work that makes this such a great forum. Loving your build and the others on the forum.

Re: MK IV Tank markings and identities

Doh, just lost the post I was writing, so here goes a quick reprise. I liked both of your posts Chris, you are so right regarding Battalions drawing tanks from depot before operations and in normal usage. This is what happened to 1st Battalion just before operation Michael so I don't know the ident ...

Re: Mk IV Male, 4086

Hi Steve, I have transferred the last post I added to another topic "Mark IV tank identities and markings" to save diverting this topic off course. but that is exactly the question I am raising. They have done a huge amount of work and have cross referenced loads of data but there are still so many ...

MK IV Tank markings and identities

I have copied this over from the topic on the first tank v tank action for comments and input rather than dilute that particular post. Now might be a time to raise a subject I have been meaning to post for some time. We know that each tank has a unique serial number 2025 for example. We have seen th...

Re: Mk IV Male, 4086

As Chris says research on projects like the painting of that type is usually very thorough and would probably use source material such as the records at Bovington or diaries and notes from eye witnesses. I would warn against using a sole record of any event though, as I am sure most of you have foun...

Re: Mk IV Male, 4086

I am pretty sure there is a report on the action in the 'A', No.1 Battalion Files at Bovington. I thought I had made notes on it on one of my visits, but cannot find them. You could contact the archives and ask them to copy it for you, (not sure if they offer this service due to small staff numbers)...

Re: Mark IV Colour

When I first saw the photo of the light brown tank I thought surely not that light, but then as I looked at the flesh tones of the soldiers I saw they were very close to reality as you say. I guess as long as the photo was converted from black and white tones and not tinted individually by hand then...

Re: Armorpax 25 Pdr Limber update set - taking orders

Just to let you know my Limber kit arrived safely Saturday a.m. it looks a great set, many thanks, especially the information CD. Did you do one for the 25 pounder? It is an asset. I am looking forward to getting started, unfortunately starting means going backwards for a bit before going forward. D...

Re: List of Mk IV's being modelled

I agree, I am fascinated by the research aspect, always having been interested in history, particularly military history. I recently returned from a trip to the Bovington archives researching WW1 tank Battle history sheets. I have collected 80 to 100 split between the 1st and 8th Battalions Mk IV's....

Re: List of Mk IV's being modelled

Hi Kevin, When Mark and Gil first announced the Mk IV WW1 tank I thought that certain tanks would become the WW1 "Wittmann" and the first tank on tank combat was one I expected to get mass produced. So I think it is great that this does not seem to have happened and I love the connection you have vi...
