Really superb build Mark! It needs turret numbers though!

Awesome details! The cupola and new rear bin are especially nice.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Yep everything Adrian said. I usually primer all parts, but you don't have too on the resin ones. As long as they are clean, they can be painted directly. I like the Tamiya white fine primer for high detail plastic parts. I prefer epoxy or rubber cement for bonding resin plastic. The cyano has the n...

Re: My Sherman - a 14 year project

Phil, Derek, Simon - thanks for looking and for the encouraging comments. Its great to see some progress on this sorely neglected model. Some more bits added. Got the Lazy Susan bearing fitted under the deck plate. Very smooth rotation now, just need to fit the tooth ring for the drive motor: https:...

Re: Rifling simulation and scopes

Hi Jerry I think the 3D printed rifling insert is most practical. The ease of modeling the insert and printing the insert with high accuracy are the two biggest factors. The inexpensive resin printers available now can do just that. If you don't get your first design just right - its easy to tweak t...

Re: My Sherman - a 14 year project

Couple new updates on the Sherman. Spent about a week making custom screws for the gun mantlet. Once I got them done I realized I could have used some round face but flat bottom head screw (gunsmith screw). :x Instead I made them with the base 90 Deg. They look and work fine. Vince I was able to use...

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Phil,
Just stunning on the detail and painting. I like how the tape peeled some of the paint - looks very realistic. If you do ground level photos it would be hard to tell your Chief is not the real deal. You seem to set the bar several notches higher on every build!

I'd take that reject bin. Better than I could make most likely. Work of art.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Nice work Phil and Vince - you've taken this model to a new level. Those printed bits look awesome, esp if the floor is painted black for contrast. You've demonstrated the niche home printing can fill for customization and details!
Great stuff!
