Just found out why drive sprockets not gripping track. Numpty me I had put the bogie wheels on the wrong way round so they were out of line with the drive sprocket, should have looked closer at the manual.

Re: Servos and brakes
I also had to remove drive unit with back plate in place but when I reassembled it I drilled a small hole in the drive sprocket level with the screw holes and then reversed the fixing bolts so that the nuts were on the inside and an allen key can be inserted through the hole, makes fixing easier and...

Re: Two new UC builds
Finally sorted out the brake servo system, took a bit of fettling but got there eventually. The warp servo system seems to work ok on the bench anyway. I am going to use NIm/h batteries not lipo. I can make up a 6 pack (7.2 volts) of D cells rated at 10 amps for about £40. Another advantage is that ...

Re: Video of the Universal Carrier running
I am in the process of setting up the servos for braking operation and I think that when the servos are centered the arm needs to be put on so that the screw is near the end of the raceway so that the brake arm is applied straight away and then adjust the amount of servo travel to match. The reason ...

Re: Two new UC builds
Getting there slowly. Motion pack arrives tomorrow. I found that the rear bogie set none of the bushes that fit in to the springs would go in to the springs as they were too big, whether the springs were too small or bushes too big I am not sure but in the end I had to turn all 12 of them down in th...

Re: Two new UC builds
Hi Mick, Good to hear from you, I hope you are well. Yes the giant Armortek boxes do come in handy. Yes it's been a while since the last build which was the 251. I have spent a lot of time at shows and Bovington with the Southern Armour Group and doing repairs for a lot of our members. But not a lot...

Re: Video of the Universal Carrier running
I think you will find they are using brakes on each sprocket as in the real thing as well as warping the track.
