Re: Chieftain turret turn motor strange behaviour on initial switch on

Hi Mark On the assumption your are using a modern radio setup, like the Spektrum, try going through the binding process again. First ensure all your controls are neutral, any trim, sub-trim or offsets are zeroed. When you bind to the receiver, the settings on your transmitter are you failsafe settin...

Re: Original Tiger Electronics

Hi Wael The electronize fr30hx is marginal on power for a 2003 Tiger. I also the power application not very smooth, making steering difficult. I have run on 4QD’s for about 10 years, and find them smooth and more than sufficient in power. Looking at the price difference between the DN-5 and DN-10, I...

Re: Original Tiger Electronics

Wael My advice would be to replace the Electronize controllers, they are not capable of controlling your tank. The 2003 Tiger is very heavy, no weight saving was carried out. Armortek quickly moved on to 4QD controllers, and then in house motion packs. Do not replace your radio, replace your control...

Re: electric problem with steering unit / servo

Hi Florian I don’t know what the rating of your steering servo is, put I’m assuming it’s high torque. You could be at the limit of your 5a converter, which will cause the voltage to drop, and cause the symptoms you are reporting. If you have a voltmeter, you could monitor the converter output with e...

Re: How many track links does your Tiger Have?

Hi Chris I have a Tiger running on 2010 tracks, so I guess they are the same. I have 94 links on the right and 95 on the left. It’s not unusual to have different number each side. The 92 links you are running sounds too short, so I’m amazed they still appear slack! They always stretch from new, but ...

Re: The Elefant Limited Edition Armortek Kit launched

Russ The drive train consisted of 2 Maybach HL 120 engines. The engines drove a single Siemens-Schuckert 500 VA generator, which powered two Siemens 230 kW electric motors, one each connected to each of the rear sprockets. Should be interesting to hear what the engine sounds like on the models sound...

Re: Track and sprocket problem

Hi Steen The 2003 issue Tiger tracks have a casting fault on them. If you look at the circular part of the track link that sits between the sprocket teeth, it has a right angled corner profile instead of being circular. You need to re profile every link with a hand file or Dremel to make them circul...

Re: Mid Tiger (2003) Major Overhaul

Hi Simon I'm not really sure what to do regarding the suspension. As I said, it was never my intention to strip the suspension down. When I had to, and with everything being stripped out, it seemed daft not to do the floor. I was hoping to replace the sprokets and roadwheels with the current set, wh...

Mid Tiger (2003) Major Overhaul

Hi All Decided after TankMod that my Tiger was in need of a cosmetic overhaul. The zimmerit was never up to spec, having been done in a hurry back in 2005. Having got it into my workshop and raised it off the roadwheels, I noticed that the suspension had sagged, and a couple had actually seized :sho...

Hi Adrian

The 820r resistor is there so no sounds are selected at the null point, otherwise you would have a sound playing constantly.
