First run Panther gun elevation issue

Hello to all. I have a first run Panther and I have just started to have an issue with the gun elevation. During operation the elevation will randomly stop operating. This is accompanied by what I will tentatively call a "reset". I hear a series of popping noises from the sound system speakers and t...

Looking for fellow RC tankers in the Chicago area

We are a small group who meet irregularly at various places around the Chicago area. One of those places is at Cantigny Museum where we have the use of a very nice large open heated (or air conditioned) building which the tanks can easily drive into. We are looking for any and all who would like to ...

Panther Speed controllers question

I have a first generation Panther with two Q4D VTX 40-24 speed controllers. A few months ago I experienced a malfunction whereby the left track would refuse to run. Upon recharging the batteries the problem seemed to resolve itself. Recently however it has returned and for a while tapping on the lef...

Re: StuG III 014 - A Team Effort

Good to see your build coming along. I've been away from the forum for a bit so just saw your post on the spring. Yes, I used a slightly stiffer spring than you did but "whatever works" is the rule. I guess you don't want to make it too stiff so as to make the suspension movement too limited and unr...

Re: StuG III 014 - A Team Effort

Glad it seems like it might work. You might need to wait until all the weight is in to see how much spring pressure is correct to get the just slightly nose heavy effect for the Stug.

Re: StuG III 014 - A Team Effort

Hello Darren, No, I did not lubricate. The spring was not a tight fit so hoped that it would not cause any undue wear. It probably would not hurt to add something but I would guess that anything more than a little light oil would end up eventually getting pushed out between the two halves of the sho...

Re: StuG III 014 - A Team Effort

Great build so far Steen, If you find that the model is still a bit too nose heavy after adding all the components you might try adding springs to the inside of the front shocks. I had the same issue on my Panzer III. I was able to find a size spring that would just fit at my local hardware store an...

Panther front deck hatch hinges

I've seen more prototypical hinges on several builds but can not find ference to them so far. Does anyone make/have these at this time?
Thanks

Chicagoland RC Tankers to be at Cantigny next weekend

To all in the Chicago area - we have been asked to participate in Armed Forces Day at Cantigny Park Museum next Saturday May 18th 9-5 pm. All are welcome but if you bring a tank or other military model you can just tell them you are part of our group and they should wave the parking fee. If you can ...

Panther exhaust question

I seem to remember that someone was offering the curved section of the Panther exhaust as a cast item. Is this still available?
Thanks
