Re: Roy's StuG III (no. 2020/10)

I'm building the Panzer iii (2018) and my plans don't show the utilization of 2 M4x22 pins to hold the wheels (CL0201) together. My wheels are a little wobbly (Very little) and the wheel halves have a little space between them. It seems to me that if they were pinned together, the track horns would ...

Re: Track orientation Panzer iii / Stug iii

Les, yes. As the tank lays the track, moving forward, it applies a force to the track which pushes it backwards in relation to the ground. The horizontal bars on the tracks, the GROUSERS, resist that force by increasing the track grip or friction. The triangular bits sticking out either side, the S...

Track orientation Panzer iii / Stug iii

I was looking at the track orientation (Perspective from the leading edge of the track) and I noticed that different sources have different orientation. I have 2 WWII photos that show the recesses in the track that form an "W". Or, the inside recess is an upside down "U", depending how you look at i...

Re: LB Panzer III build (2018/11)

I spent the morning building hubcaps. The rivets are too long, and protrude out of the back of the hubcap. This was the same situation I had with the Roller assembly hubcaps. For the roller assembly, I glued the rivets in, let them dry, and filed the back flat. For the Road Wheel hubcaps, I cut he r...

Re: Roy's StuG III (no. 2020/10)

If you flip the one on the right, and the bearing is recessed but no holes, and if you flip the one on the left, and the bearing is almost flush and there are holes, then it appears that the drilled/tapped holes for the hubcaps are on the wrong side of both idler wheels. Mine are correct and have th...

Is the cat using the box as a litter tray?!!😆
No, but she claimed the box as hers. Her observation point to see what this is all about.

LB Panzer III build (2018/11)

I started my Panzer III build about a month ago. I have found the other threads very useful, so I figured I would start my own.
I have already completed the hull and running gear.

Re: Suspension arm angle

I'm at the point of setting my Suspension Arm angle. The manual says 20 degrees. The consensus appears that 20 is too low. I have read suggestions of 25 to 40 degrees. My question is: If you were doing it again, and considering that it would have all option packs, what would you set the angle at? I ...

Re: An hello and roller assy question

Oli, I'm building a Panzer III (2018) and I'm running into the same issue. My roller housings (CL0124) are missing the inside ridge. I'm thinking the solution is to just glue the bushing in with Loctite 638. But I'm wondering: Does anyone know why the ridge was removed from the roller housing? What ...
