Re: Totem Pole and the Sundance kid

In your research and work with these units did you also consider which lubricants provide the best performance for the spiral bevel gears used? Those gears actually require a lubricant that enhances the sliding action of the gear faces. You undoubtedly have seen lubricants aimed at hypoid or offset ...

Re: Armorteks next model

Boys, boys.... you all remind me of me when I was but a wee lad. I'd get a nervous sick tummy often before Christmas in anticipation of what Santa would bring! My poor parents didn't know what to do. I still get queasy when I know a model tank is winging its way over to me! All good things in their ...

Then break down.

Hopefully 🤞🏼 motors back tomorrow.......
What's this then? Is there a story here? What broke down and how? Just curious and learning pitfalls to avoid.
If you covered this already in another thread, apologies and if you could reference the appropriate thread please.

Re: Help please

I take a different approach when advising people as to which model tank to buy. Warning: I'm hard nosed about it. Either you have an interest in AFVs overall and a specific vehicle or you don't. No one should be able to tell you what to buy as you should already know. I personally like everything fr...

Mother nature, must respect her. Some of you may have read what her last temper tantrum did here in California. She lit
fires all over the place. We're still feeling (and smelling) the effects...

Glad all will be well Kian.

M24 Chaffee. Small, nimble and used by many countries from WWII until the 1980s. Good suspension, nice 'lines'.

Re: Tom's King Tiger Build 2019 Hull 53

Hi Tom I too had banana shaped hull sides and jumped up and down on them... but unfortunately not heavy enough to make an impression! Not having equipment to straighten them meant filing the decking to suit the bend. Also had to modify the track tensioner on one side to aligne the tensioner bolt wi...

Heiko this is a very impressive project! Your work is remarkable. Which resin printer did you end up purchasing? I think I missed that name in the portion of this article. Like you I've been building for a while now and I've wanted to add 3D printing capability as you and to also allow for for more ...

Re: Books

..... I have been in touch with the author to see if he would consider another run of his books. Will keep you posted. Kian I'd be very interested in another run of these books; a friend and I were discussing source books for the UC and these are particularly difficult to find over here in the colo...

Primers and painting

Hello all. Primers and painting. Is there a concise entry within the forum which describes best practices with regards to priming and painting? By painting I don't mean applying camouflage, just the base or primary finish color. I understand there are personal preferences regarding etching primers w...
