Re: Chieftain Build No.17
Thanks Manny. If I remove the 5 volt power supply to the recoil unit then the drive motors operate proportional to the sound but of course the recoil and flash don’t work as no power supply? Anyone else seen this issue? Mark, check through the following https://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewtopic....

Re: Chieftain No 12 shake down on 75th Anniversay of VE Day
Yes Berlin camouflage, Just started spraying, it’s taken me a while to get what I hope are the right patterns and am just about to head in to my garage/workshop to tape up for the white.
I am back at work now but the 2 months on furlough allowed me to progress the tank quite nicely

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Thanks Dave,
I had it working ok then decided to try and adjust it, 3 hours later I was almost back to where I started.
If it ain’t broke!

Just a quick taster of my ongoing build but just had to get it out on VE day. The grass is starting to grow again!

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
All now sorted. I have followed the wiring in the booklet to the t with the exception of switching over the rx leads for the tracks. I was having issues with module b and the recoil but I sorted module b this afternoon, don’t ask how because I have no idea I have tried all possible wire combinations...

Phil,
Thanks for the barrel insert, 10/10 fits like a glove and looks the part.

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Okay, After an email with a Kian I am half way 80% there, I now have drive on both tracks in the correct directions and I also now have turret turn and elevation with it. My only issue now is when I connect the recoil up as it starts ‘recoiling’ none stop until it’s turned off and whilst it is on th...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
I have the new red units too. The switches mount one at the servo and one at the cam. They are part number CPO204 in my Panzer kit. When you trigger the canon it releases the switch to start the serve moving. It closes when the servo returns. The switch at the cam stops the movement at the proper l...

Tom I have the new red boxes with no physical switches that I can see.Tom Miller wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 10:19 pmThey come in the recoil option pack. You have to mount them to the firing mechanism. Granted mine is a Panzer, but, I assume they are all the same.

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Hello Andy, I may have missed something here...if you have the new 'red' modules, the recoil is limited by the amount of servo arm movement....Mick Hi Mick, yes I have the new red one. There is no issue with the servo arm travel it’s just that once it’s all wired in as soon as I turn the power unit...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Hi Andy, Sounds like you do not have the 2 recoil limit switches adjusted correctly. They are critical to proper function and very sensitive. Tom Hi Tom, where are the switches located, I was under the impression that it would only recoil if the gun was”fired” with the 3 position toggle switch. Andy

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Now plug in module B to the selected RX channels. you must have both the Turret turn & elevation options fully plugged in before testing. Do not try to allocate TX switch options with Module B plugged in, it causes a mixing miss match error. Hi Dave, I too ended up the same if you’ve read this post...

Re: DX8 advice for new to RC
Thanks Guys,
I will send a message to Kian.
The servo for the recoil is the one sent out which has an arm.
All the module units appear to be the new ones.
Will let you know what happens.
In the meantime it’s carry on with the build.
