Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

First thing I did as soon as the model was jacked up and tracks removed was to test the failsafe for peace of mind. Painted the road wheels on the workshop table. Tiger 699.JPG The sprockets and idlers I left in place and all four painted in situ. Tiger 700.JPG Tiger 701.JPG Road wheels re-attached ...

I suspect it must be something not too big if they will be ready for Summer 2020. Kompact kit?

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Yes Brian. Cats coming from sanctuaries need a lot of patience.
We are a lot better off than the model railroaders...
I have done stationary steam engines, I.C engines and also a 1/3 scale replica of a 1874 Gatling Gun (non-firing) but never a steam locomotive up till now.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Haven't done much this week except sometimes driving it around the workshop. This was due mainly due to the fact that we adopted two kittens (Tuxedo cats) from a cat sanctuary and spent most of the time at home so that they acclimatise themselves to the new surroundings. This also gave me the chance...

Re: Tiger Ausf E “F01” Gruppe Fehrmann

I like the idea of those floor stiffeners although I don't think they would have worked on mine. Reason being that to lock the torsion bars, I used cap head screws instead of the grub screws and there would be a possibility that when the torsion bar twists the cap head screws will hit the stiffeners...

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Hi Phil, following your chieftan build and picking up general tips as you go along. I am not familiar with that model so I don't have anything constructive to add. A spray gun was not generally used but could have been. I have seen photos of the Germans using spray guns in the field in 1943 or 1944 ...

Re: Tiger I Adjustable Suspension

All I can say is that on mine they were at the bottom and I changed them to be at the top. It was more convenient for me. I used allen head bolts except for the two at the front which where close to the motor mounts. For these I used hex head bolts.
