Re: Renault FT17

Absolutely amazing scratch build... since that is what it appears to be!!!

It's a kit I wish Armortek would build... because it would be an incredible tribute to the birth of Allied armor!

Beautiful work, sir!

Re: Engine L60 for Chieftain

So I put my historians hat on and did a bit of research to see if there are some (or one) archive where L60 blueprints or general arrangements drawings might be found. Came up with these leads... The Leyland collection does not seem to be in any one place. But spread across a vast number of museums,...

Re: Armorteks next model

As an aeronautical engineer, would love to make an aircraft - although the spitfire was posted as a april's fools joke last year and got carried into the survey as a continuation of that .. although never say never ! Well, you could always start with the Merlin... and then branch out from there? On...

Re: Armorteks next model

I think the Land Rover is interesting... but not a Series 1... A Series IIa. Is there a more iconic post-war British military (and other) vehicle? SAS Pink Panther. A utility vehicle for "The troubles". Everyone who owned or remembers one? I loved many of the suggestions. But the Land Rover idea is ...

Wheel bolt configuration changed to resemble the real vehicle 20190821_201857_compress71.jpg 20190917_184502_compress70.jpg Very interesting bolt pattern... what's the engineering idea behind this? The asymmetric pattern has obvious applications in something like a gear train or a wheel/dolly that ...

Re: Armorteks next model

I am doing some research on my 25 PDR and a little book I got from Vangard (not great.... but some useful photos) has pictures of a Sexton in it! That's an M3 Lee/Grant chassis built at the Montreal Locomotive Works, and mounted with a 25 PDR. Really sexy Self-Propelled gun that could be built out o...

Re: Armorteks next model

I just got a leaked picture of the next model from Armortek.... It is going to be a doosey! Not even sure I can classify it. And sorry to Kian and the Armortek Team for spoiling their surprise... . . . . . . . . . . . . https://i.ibb.co/1LsBym4/heliank.jpg This is the new U.S. Helitankarmoredartille...

Re: Armorteks next model

I have learned that it is never possible to out-guess the minds at the Armortek Mothership. Because just when we think we have them figured out... they create something awesome! I am very looking forward to this. Not necessarily because I'll be ordering it. But because I will be so awe-struck by wha...

Re: FINALLY Painted My Panzer IV After 3 Years

Absolutely beautiful! Your paint and detail are amazing. I do great at machining and technical stuff of angles, fits, nuts bolts. But cannot grasp the artistry you guys have of being able to put on a paint job that just looks like the real thing! This is in an incredible job and I hope someday that ...

Re: Heaven. 1944.

An interesting side-effect of some of the carpet-bombing was that large bursts could suck enough oxygen out of an area that it could suffocate folks on the ground. A crew might be safe from splinters and blast damage... and still suffocate from lack of O2. Not sure the ordnance in WW2 had enough 'oo...
