Re: 17PDR / 25 PDR "Pheasant"

When I was recently at the conflict archaeology trip to San Pietro/Monte Cassino, we came upon a small military museum near the memorial at Mt. Longo... and there is a Sherman Firefly turret in the museum. Could note get closer than about 100 yards, but the bulbous brake from the Pheasant/17 PDR was...

Re: RR Armoured car at the TEL symposium

With some amazing reviews worldwide and a lot of reader support, Jim's book received the Silver Award for military history book of the year by MHM magazine! He got the word today and is pretty excited! He beat out Mark Bodwen's "Hue" and Chernow's bestselling book on Grant to win the silver medal! J...

Re: Bailey Bridge in the Central African Republic

Curious about the context of this? Was it just a nicely-sized and accessible model of a bridge for the display? Are they going to put the full-size Bailey back into production for use in developing nations (a good idea, actually!) Was there some significance to the model or Armortek? Just interested...

Some Future Armortek Customers? We can hope!

So for those of us who built models while kids... anyone ever envision making a 1/8th scale Submarine???? The kids in Powell, Wyoming USA's high school brought together numerous disciplines from art class to their welding shop to create a 30+ foot submarine! https://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/...

....*Luckily it wasn't a Pershing, M60 or another Sherman variant" my bank account will be ok... for now  Chieftain is the coming next. Maybe the following next is M60A1(3) for John's bank account? M60A3.jpg Wonder, though, in this day and age if there is not a good demand out there for...

Re: Armorteks next model

Stephen... an interesting observation about the IDF. How and when did the Merkava play into their plans as a 'homegrown' tank? Did that base off a western platform? Or was it totally homegrown? Did they do it after they were refused Chieftains? Gotta be some interesting history there and as I am an ...

Re: Painting the M3

I like Adrian's idea... because that covers a lot of 'ground' when it comes to weathering for desert climates.

And a lot of our kits are 'at home' in the desert, so to speak!

Will this be an online class or does one have to come to Armortek to participate???

Re: Armorteks next model

Seems like there are a lot of happy Chieftian fans here this morning! Which is a very good thing! As long as I can remember... the drum has been banged loudly for a Chieftain! And since the folks at Armortek listen, your prayers have been answered! Beautiful-looking kit! Hope all the fans are going ...

Re: Armorteks next model

I am willing to bet you guys money (or Armorpax parts) that the new model falls somewhere between these two armoured vehicle classes.... https://i.ibb.co/3MxTK3L/strange-tank-2.jpg And this: https://i.ibb.co/yFL4kMF/strange-tank-1.jpg Though I bet the FAMO owners would really jump all over option 2!...
