Re: Jagdtiger prototype

Interesting stuff about Belsize, Simon. I remember reading a post on tank-net (I think it was) about the E100 and it's fate and how someone had asked someone at Pounds and they supposedly had no record of having had it. It never having been there in the first place would sure explain that. Wikipedia...

Re: Armorteks next model

About the survey, nothing in it made me "ooh and aah" but I suggested the Pz.38(t) which would open the door to several conversions. As second choice, obviously, after S Tank.

Re: Per sonnervik R.I.P.

Sad and shocking, I only just now found out from a post on a local forum. I don't remember now how we first got in touch but out of the blue he phoned me up on a sunday morning to talk for an hour about my S-Tank plans, his Tiger B, and modeling in general, I think this was in 2000. We met at a show...

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

Three months and exactly nothing done. Until tonight that was, I locked myself into the shop and ground down the back of the hub plates. No more rattling outer wheels!

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

Selling the flat was finalized two weeks ago and now I am a full time house owner, with tons of snow to shovel. I did however find some late night hours to put into the top side plates. It is getting there!

Re: Armorteks next model

Crusader, and we are seeing the inside face of an unfinished sprocket hub. First two pictures are lost on me though.

Signs of life?

Things are slowly starting to fall into place with the house, not to mention slowing down to normal after the holidays. I am about to begin final fitting of the hull plates, some gaps and alignements need a looking into. The table is not suitable, I have been looking at a lift table for servicing mo...

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

I have been kind of quiet on here but things have been happening. I bought a house three weeks ago, downstairs is 60 square meters of parking space and workshop-ish spaces. The only downside now is that now there is an entire house of possibilities putting the Tiger a fair bit further down on the To...

Awsome!

Sadly, I can also see this being illegal.

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

I may have to look into Simplify 3D. Somewhat suprisingly the Malyan specific port of ReplicatorG that shipped with the printer does not allow me to scale individual axis (axeses? axii?) while the much more walled garden Makerbot software do. Therefore the shaft and gear are not entirely round. Also...

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

Thank you, Phil. My first 3D printer is a Makerbot Mini. These are expensive for what they can and cannot do but in their favor, they are easy to get going. Expect to use up the included filament in getting to know it. Two years ago the Mini was the smallest Makerbot model at 100*100*125 mm build vo...

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

I came down with a cold (no, it's summer here) a few days ago but at least now it is vacation time. I aquired a new, slightly bigger, slightly better, vastly cheaper, 3D printer last weekend and has been struggling with it since. Slight progress, prototype through-hull shaft completed!

Suddenly, taper locks!

These were missing when I recieved the model, now sourced from the mechanical specialist across town. Printed stand-in also shown.

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

I haven't touched the wheel hubs or anything else since last update, busy elsewhere. A friend was over and had a look at it. I had to make him leave before he made me an offer for it. Might well be a future Armortek customer. :D Anyway, had to finally make something. What is this? FreshlyMinted.jpg ...

Re: Old Tiger, New Owner

I took my trusty file to the back of one of the hub plates and shaved it down maybe 0.15 mm. A bit tediuos but now it fits and only 17 to go.
