Re: Annual tank meeting 2019 in Hausen am Bach

Hi Steen,

I will be there too, of course. I have only about 80 km. Reinhold wishes me to bring the Jagdtiger with me.......

Re: Batteries

My Charger is a Junsi 4010 Duo combining the capability to charge (and balance) all types of batteries (lead acid, LiFePO4, LiIon, LiPo, NiCD, NiMH and so on) with currents up to 2 x 40 amps (or 70 amps combined) at voltages up to 30 volts (10 LiFe cells). Please note: the charger is designed for us...

Re: Batteries

In my Panzer IV I use also Lifes. You may use either 2 blocks of 4 cells (2 x 12 volts) or 8 single cells for 24 volts. The blocks have a built-in battery management system (BMS), which gives fully protection against deep discharge and overcharging when using a simple lead acid charger with over-vol...

Re: Martin's Jagdpanther

Hi Martin, glowing LEDs in the exhaust pipes are a nice thing, but unfortunately you can see it only by night. Reinhold has such a feature added to his King Tiger in 1/4 scale. On top he has combined it with real flames coming out of the exhausts simulating backfire. These flames are made by...

Re: New electronics in August

A really good advice! :) I am using two-state relays which can cut off the main circuit without any power consumption when the switching operation ist done. So I can safely switch up to 100 amps by pressing 'doll's kitchen' pushbuttons and with zero power consumption when switched off. https://abloa...

Re: New electronics in August

Hi Sam, one big trouble when using powerful amplifiers is the juddering and clattering of the whole hull, the other issue is the fact, that sound isn't emitted by the exhausts, but by the radiator fan openings. The first trouble causes Olaf's built-in cam failing totally if the full power of his Pan...

Re: New electronics in August

Here are some more keypoints we like to consider for our tanks (Armortek and others): -- for outdoor activities 2 x 60 watts are a suggested minimum of power. A car hifi power amp (for subwoofers) with 250 watts is preferred, but most of them need only 12 volts and therefore a battery of its own or ...

Re: Benedini Mini and volume up/down via transmitter

Hi Steen, I don't use a Benedini sound module, but I am glad having a stepless loudness control via its own transmitter channel pot with my Beier modules. Imho it is rather necessary because all sound modules need a seperate power amplifier with at least 2 x 60 watts (normally 2 x 120 watts) to have...

Re: RE PANZER AUSF G

OK, that's right, but I wonder why some guys buy a kit, leave it for years and then try to sell it again. Others build it up and leave it then uncared for years. I don't think that a tank model is a profitable financial investment. Guys may like assembling, or may like to play with it in the fields ...

Re: RE PANZER AUSF G

Well, I'm looking for Armortek models and prices in Germany, just for fun. It's a little curious for me that average built and painted tank models are offered for 5.500 € and above, but are sold for 3.000 € and lower in the end.....

Re: Spektrum Failsafe

Hi guys, I don't like to disconnect batteries when not in use, because they are connected with screws. Therefore I installed charge sockets and a control board with LEDs to signal if batteries are connected with any load. With the charge sockets I can test battery voltage. The blue main switch is al...

Re: Whats in your sound system?

Hi Richard, in Germany we like to use the Beier sound module USM-RC2 with our tanks; beside the modules of Thomas (Benedini). The benefits of the USM-RC2 I already named in the transmitter thread: - up to 5 gears forward and reverse - automaticly differencing between cold and warm start - 30 additio...

Re: POLL: What transmitter/ Receiver do you use

Hi all, in the last few days I bought 8 cells of LiFe(PO4) with 20 Ah. They are the 3rd pack of LiFes I use in a tank, and I think that the acquisition costs now become tolerable. Previously I had 2 lead acid (AGM) batteries with 12 V and 24 Ah, and I had paid 144 €. Now I replaced it after only 2 y...

Re: POLL: What transmitter/ Receiver do you use

Hi guys, please remember that the German Beier sound module can store several hours of sounds at 44 kHz / 16 bit at its mikro SDHC-card. E.g. I use it for background music in "pauses in the fighting". You have 30 sounds which are individually controllable, 30 more sounds in a "WAV-player" with forwa...
