Re: Churchill and the funnies

Roll on next year! I’m hoping that the necessary bits will be available fairly soon once production starts to convert to an AVRE. Once that iconic Petard mortar is in place the list of configurations is mind blowing. Fascines, box girder bridges, three types of bobbins, flails, goat demolition charg...

Re: Track issues

Hi, I had the same issue but found I could use a small, Dremel mounted cutting disc to remove the excess bolts as close to the nuts as possible. This gave just enough room for silent running! :D Phil

Re: Universal Carrier # 33

Hi Alistair and a Happy New Year to you and yours. I got my UC before Christmas but have only built the running gear so far. Having a house full of puppies makes it rather tricky to build much at the moment. I know you will enjoy the build and can’t wait to see the finished article and compare it to...

UC No.25

Seasons greetings to all those lucky UC builders out there enjoying an early Christmas with a lot of unpacking and gazing, open mouthed at the latest wonder from Kian and co. No.25 arrived after a short detour and I have to say it was worth the wait. Idler and bogie units are getting their “first fi...

Re: RC Newbie

Adrian,
I now have motion on both sides and functioning steering. Many thanks for the wise words.
Now all I have to work out is the winch motor. I’m leaving the sound module until I’m feeling a bit braver.

Re: RC Newbie

Thank you, Adrian and Kian, both. The mist is beginning to clear and I now start to comprehend the view through the mud!
I’m off to try this out now and hope to have good news soon.
Cheers,
Phil

Re: RC Newbie

I’m sorry, Dennis. Your post doesn’t make sense to me. All wiring is as described in the motion pack manual and I assumed that it would work. Reciever plug 1 is linked to the left joystick, fore and aft movement so is the obvious control for the motors.

Re: RC Newbie

Kian, Having a right ‘mare uploading photos so I’ll start with the written description. Both motors are connected to the Speed control terminals as per the manual. The winch motor is connected to Switched1. Terminal 1, marked THRO on the receiver, is connected to R/C input 1. The steering servo is c...

Famo: Go! Don’t go!

Coming to the end of my Famo build and am installing the MOP. Wired up as per the manual the winch motor is running as soon as I power up the system (even before being paired to my transmitter). Also unable to get the main motors to respond to the Tx. Moving the stick produces a small, relay type cl...

Re: RC Newbie

I have now worked out which channel does what. Thanks again Adrian. However I am unable to get either drive motor to run. Also the winch motor runs as soon as the power goes on! Just a tad annoying..
As ever any tips or advice would be gratefully received. Phil

Re: RC Newbie

Thanks Adrian, I have the red fuse version. I’ll see if I can find a servo in the morning and report back.

Apologies if this is a bit simplistic but as a total rube when it comes to Radio Control I’m very much of the plug in and play user. Building the Famo, I’m now at the point of bench testing the electrics and, after a visit to a local store I bought an Exmitter EX7, 7 channel outfit. Now trying to ge...
