Re: Mark IV No. 01 - "Kathleen"

Hi Adrian,

lacking any answer from the pros I’ll show my solution.
I think this section needs to be corrected.

Hi Gerhard, From my point of view it looks that this forum is more like a virtual living room or a notably club for us, the „Armortek Aficionados“ esp. owners. Some of the members are newbies others experienced metal engineers, some of the readers are interested potential new customers and others en...

Re: How to (not) fit the roof.

Hi Adrian, I was a little bit lazy, followed your method 2 and glued six rectangular rivets into the roof with approx. 2,5 mm dia. These pins fit into suitable holes of EK0126 I though that the roof needs no structural reinforcement. Roof1.jpg Roof4.jpg The exhaust pipe is held into a bracket covere...

Re: Gluing rivets

Hello Kevin,

I used 2-component epoxy resin adhesive for heavy-duty requirements like "UHU Endfest".
In the picture below you will see some painted examples.

Re: Easy Access

Hello, thank you for your heartening comments. Chris, Daniel, You make an important point. Removing the drives a few times, I saw that the hex allen keys provides you a little freedom to work in a slightly angled position. I could reach the screws in every position of the drives. So I never faced th...

Easy Access

Hello, Regarding the reports about the maintenance of the drives I finally decided to take a more convenient way. The „Beutepanzer“ in my worksop got 4 „bullet holes“ on each side of the rear armor plates with 6 mm dia. That provides direct access with the hex allen key to the mounts of the drives. ...

Adrian,

What a pity!
Winter shows his gim face.

Hope the damage will be solved smoothly in warmer temperatures.

Re: Lewis gun barrels

Hi Adrian, Very smart idea. I started to fit the first gun with a few parts build in brass e.g. the gas regulator, but found that the sizes are difficult to catch despite the lots of work. Your solution is way more realistic than my trial. The diameter of the radiator casing seems to be 86 mm. So th...

Re: Painting

I forgot to mention that for WWI tanks the red oxide primer isn’t the best solution, because in this era rust prevention usually had a gray hue. In my build I realized that a little too late after priming a lot of parts and I was too lazy to start this work again. For the "buntfarben" camo I used sp...

Thanks for this precious hint.
