Re: Real or fake

Some of my favorites from the heavy tow bar trials. Something worth noting.....the natural weathering reference point on the photo below, look at the staining marks running down from the scalloped fillet between the pannier underside and the hull side, the tank has spent many months outside in all w...

Re: Painting your Chieftains (and other post-WW2 vehicles)

Just great Chris! Love the Artillery System 90 Photo (AS90) at Larkhill, now that would make an impressive Armortek vehicle indeed

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.

It's not bad is it Vince, relatively simple to (if a bit bulky) and the noise of the unit adds to the overall sound of the vehicle, sort of like a heavy metal transmission gear wine/turbo come supercharger that's proportionate to rpm. Maybe I should patent it? 8)

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.

If your not all fed up with the Bergepanther, here's the video of the heavy tow bar trials. The suspension is just starting to loosen up right now, allowing the nice rise a dip of the vehicle this will just get better with some run time.

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.

I have spent some time experimenting with those beautiful towing bars, dragging a vehicle is not a problem, pushing is not so easy. the old range target Tiger1 is a bugger to pull or push as the running gear has been shot at and blown up so many times it's all way out of line and I think the hull is...

Re: Phils Famo build

Hi Chang, the same loctite 480 used for the road wheels, it's the one with the black rubber compound . 8)

Make sure you test fit the rubber to fit the track flats perfectly and mark with a pencil line, get this wrong and the 480 sets and you will be buying new rubbers !

Re: Phils Famo build

Hi Bob, the Famo sure is an impressive model. That first road wheel just catches the occasional sprocket roller, if the suspension was set a little higher it would miss but as the suspension arm travels through it's arc it's going to just touch at some point. You can either let it all settle down wi...

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.

Last few detail jobs to do with the Bergepanther like change that driving light and weathering, always fiddling with the weathering although a little use is by far the best for the running gear. Then do I sell it? If I do then the price will be around 10k for this one of a kind, the only one on the ...

Re: Famo winch and lighting

I had a combination of factors causing binding, the out of line motor shaft, that needed the 2.5mm mounting holes opening up to maybe 3mm or even 3.5 until you can align correctly before tightening in place, the flexible coupling will only work if the worm and snail gear are set up with no binding w...

Re: Famo winch and lighting

Hi Phil, ref the winch. Does the winch turn ok when you attach it to a battery drill driver? Regards Phil
