Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

I have a similar gap on my 2010 tiger. It is too large and is half the explanation why the hatches don't open with the gun in the neutral position. The other half, I have not managed to figure out yet, but the hatches seem to be in the right position re tiger1info.

Re: Martin's Jagdpanther

I realize now that in order to fully appreciate this, I would need to know what it looked like before your modifications. :?
Either way, just watching your mechanics is pure joy! :D

Re: Limited Steering and noisy servo

Since nobody more knowledgeable has chimed in, here is what I would do: 1 Disconnect the steering servo mechanically and see if the behavior persists. This should prove whether this is a mechanical or electrical issue. 2 If the behavior persists (electrical issue), try replacing the servo. My 2 cent...

Overvoltage? Under load? Or were you running downhill, so that the regeneration could indeed have caused an overvoltage?

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

The view was straight - no wide angle optics or multiple prisms. I suspect the placement has much to do with the driver's and radio op's heads. Move the periscope and the head would be in the way.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

I think the reason they point outward is that it provides some vision to take a corner. The driver has tunnel vision through the front and can look left through the periscope. With the assistance of the radioman, they have vision to the right.
Anyone with better knowledge?

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Very nice work with the hatches! Don't hesitate to bend and adjust the hinges if necessary. Brass can handle that. Now go and get yourself a pair of Mike Stannard's periscopes with the glass lenses. Expensive, but after all the work you have put into perfecting your model, it deserves that. :D
