Re: Left tracks get stuck on turns
There are three possibilities: 1 Mechanical issues: Remove the motor and test by hand in suspended condition and on the ground for mechanical binding. 2 Electrical issues: Get yourself a multimeter and check the connections to the motors and compare. First check the resistance (to the motor) and the...

Re: Roy's StuG III (no. 2020/10)
The torsion bar system is indeed problematic. Grub screws biting into a thin bar are really not up to the job. My Tiger 1 torsion bars often come loose from the fixed end. On closer examination, the moving end is equally problematic. Ideally, the system should squeeze around the torsion bars instead...

Just don't do what I did and reach for the hot soldering iron with out looking and grab it by the bit - ouch! Thanks for letting us in on this secret, Graham! I thought I was the only one on the planet having done such a ehm... thing. I would never have admitted it if you hadn't gone first!

Re: M3 Help Needed!!
You already tested step one: It runs well when suspended, but not on the ground. Next step I would suggest is to remove the motors and run the track by hand to check for mechanical binding. Both suspended and on the ground. Since everything points toward binding issues when on the ground, next step ...

The bad news is that the last time I had to go through this in another context, UPS charged around GBP 60 for the "service" to charge the VAT.
Not a big deal if you have ordered a model, but worth considering when ordering spare parts.

Alan, Gerhard is touching on an important aspect regarding driving time: A 300W sound system to compete with 1:1 counterparts in the background (to prove rather than gesture the answers to the usual questions: CAN IT MAKE ENGINE SOUNDS? CAN IT SHOOT?), will consume around 15A @ 24V. This is far more...

Yes, the fact that the gun can both traverse and elevate, the recoil mechanism takes up just about the entire casemate, leaving little room for anything else. Amazing really!

The KV2 was known to be top heavy. The turret often jammed when not level. The KV3 in Brian's post above even more so, although the rate of fire was improved....
