Re: A different 1/6 scale model

My wife says it looks like a quite inconvenient hobby. It sort of eludes to hauling around a 200 kg tank model being convenient. Very supportive! :D

Very nice looking! :D

How does the battery charge indicator work? Is that not chemistry dependent?

Re: A novices guide to looking after an Armortek

I avoid deep water to keep the bearings safe. Although the bearings are of the sealed kind, there are no rubber seals on the shafts. Careful running in mud is OK for me. I just leave it to dry and it will come off by itself either in my garage or on the next run. A microfiber cloth is nice to clean ...

"...all the pipe work is correctly connected and if it were real would need bleeding right now to remove the air".
Real or fake? Not sure. Better safe than sorry!

Re: Help in locating page in tiger1.info

Regarding another discussion, the picture before that one shows how tightly the mantlet goes to the turret. You can barely fit a fingernail there!

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Looking very nice, Vince, but you can throw away that pry bar. I don't know if it belongs on anything, but definitely not on a tiger. If you look at the 6th scale icons stuff, there is a pry bar for a Sturmtiger that looks right. I don't know if they had the same length, though. Your model holds a v...

Re: eight years, four owners, no mile

I discussed the issue that the guide horns are eating away on the inside of the sprockets with a good friend of mine, who has scratch built a Panther in 1/5 using brass track links from das Giesswerk. There were no discernible differences between these and Vincent's track links and especially the gu...

Re: Tiger build

Since I'm using my top of the line JR 10X transmitter that is totally outdated now it is important to run the antenna on the receiver on the outside of the tank. Being all metal the tank could interfere with reception ... I would like to suggest that you ditch that old system and treat yourself to ...

Re: eight years, four owners, no mile

Yes, that would be bad news, but what about the Armortek tracks? They have chevrons equally tall. Of course, they are aluminum and will wear out faster, but when new. Do they have the same issue?

Re: Panzer III ausf L

If you are going to use your model and add or improve items as you go along, a removable deck is a must. I have even worn my screws out and bought replacements with Torx heads! Things I have done include: - servos to control the front hatches, - numerous improvements and experiments with the s...

Re: Late Tiger 1 commission build by Phil Woollard

It's very difficult to keep it a bit human, a bit random, not to uniform. Obviously use the same tool or a few very similar just as the guys applying it would have. I'm using a wooden spatula, a single piece tool which is taking forever but doesn't give that "lines on the black board look." I agree...

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

I have a similar gap on my 2010 tiger. It is too large and is half the explanation why the hatches don't open with the gun in the neutral position. The other half, I have not managed to figure out yet, but the hatches seem to be in the right position re tiger1info.

I realize now that in order to fully appreciate this, I would need to know what it looked like before your modifications. :?
Either way, just watching your mechanics is pure joy! :D
