Re: Tiger II Kit For Sale

Since I recently purchased a 2009 King Tiger kit I personally think this stated price is a really good price to ask even excluding the EXTRA detail parts it comes with. If I wasn't already building the 2009 KT I purchased in February, I would have already grabbed this! Armortek has already sold out ...

Re: Mick's Grant

Hi Mick! Get one of those 'half man' upper bodies from Dave at Armorpax (Dave is in England...) and then get a head to put on it. Heck, not much can be seen below the tanker chin thru that window anyway and once the body is painted it looks GREAT! That way you still have the full figure to use somew...

Re: Doesn't The New King Tiger Manuals Have Written Instructions?

Thanks for the quick response!

I have my 2009 manual (and other Armortek vehicle manuals I have) to help answer questions because I'd be happy to help out.

Doesn't The New King Tiger Manuals Have Written Instructions?

A GOOD Friend of mine just received his 2019 King Tiger kit and he's having a hard time figuring out the manual. He said the build instructions are just all pictures with no written directions. He asked me how my 'old' 2009 KT manual sez to anchor the suspension bushings in the mount because his '19...

Re: Hull plugs, why?

Ya know, I've wonder that myself.

Then I figured it was so the plate could be mounted on posts in a fixture so the milling machine could mill the outline of the plate.

I don't know...

Re: KT Sprocket Teeth Alignment On Hubs

YES!! Sorry I neglagated (FORGOT!) to mention this is a 2009 King Tiger I'm working on!

So before you start drilling holes everywhere on the hubs check to see if all four teeth set on a flat surface without rocking.

Thanks for reminding me Kian!!

Re: KT Sprocket Teeth Alignment On Hubs

Thanks Tom! I just watched the whole youtube video of John (who I'm a good customer of) at ECA show how to enlarge the hub & sprocket holes so bolts go in easier. And that's good! BUT I don't think drilling out the existing holes where they are in the hub & sprockets will give adequate leeway to tur...

Re: Sprocket Teeth Alignment On Hubs

HEY! I done figured this out!!! I was just going to the fridge to get another ICE COLD BEVERAGE and I had one of them EPIFERMIES!! Tomorrow I'm going to put a sprocket on each hub, aligning the sprocket holes HALF WAY between the hub holes! Mark each hole lightly, then drill the hub holes and bolt t...

Re: Sprocket Teeth Alignment On Hubs

Hi Phil! I've check every combination possible. Switched every sprocket with each other, sprocket sets, hubs/sprockets, different hub holes (which will need to be drilled out because every sprocket has holes off a tiny bit on one side). I even tried a different BEEER (one of my wife's Corona's! (wit...

2009 KT Sprocket Teeth Alignment On Hubs

(***This something I discovered while assembling a 2009 King Tiger so it probably don't pertain to any KTs other than the '09sI) I was just out in the garage and started assembling the sprockets on the hubs. I aligned the dimples as prescribed. I put the sprockets on, both dished sides out, and afte...

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019

Good Morning Peter, Robert, and Chang!! THANKS for the info! I'm going to go with those 'flanged ball bearing transfer' bearings, just have to figure out the size. As Robert showed, McMaster has some that looks the size. It'll be a while until I get to that part of the build so I'll have a lot of ti...

Do All King Tiger Idlers Have Solid Backs?

I've just started building this 2009 King Tiger (I was bead blasting parts today) and the inner rear idlers have solid, on piece backs on them. Is this normal? I was thinking that solid backs would cause mud, leaves, chipmunks, frogs, tree limbs, etc., to get stuck in that narrow track guide and it'...

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019

Thanks for the info Kian! I'll order the ball bearing ring when I order the NEW style Motion Pack (which should be about the first of next week). I'll just shave off the two 'half moon' areas in the upper hull deck halves until the inner ring has clearance, then drill the holes for the ring and bolt...

Re: Re-release of the King Tiger - End 2019

Hi Fabian and Adrian! Yeah, I can tell just how HEAVY this KT turret will be! I was curious IF the ball bearing ring has already been introduced. Since it hasn't, I feel 'sorry' for the traverse motor because this turret is a BEAST! I'll just have to load it up with grease and hope I don't have to t...
