Re: For Sale; WW1 British MkIV tank kit no.22

Hi Ladies and Gents, just to let you all know MkIV kit 22 is sold subject to the completion details. Hopefully the new owner will post and let you know where it is bound, I was amazed. Ian. PS Thanks for the comments Chris, research is always fun (when you make progress) bringing old stories to ligh...

For Sale; WW1 British MkIV tank kit no.22

With apologies to anyone that has been wanting to build one of these WW1 monsters. I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I have far too many projects not getting my attention. So while there is still time for someone else to complete the build in this 100th anniversary year I will sell on m...

Re: Mark IV No. 30 – here we go again ............

I lost the first reply Chris when my broadband connection crashed so here goes again. Firstly it is always a pleasure reading your latest and I make no apologies for saying once again a big thank you to you and the other forum posters for sharing so much information that you have all expended so muc...

Re: Morris Commercial C8 Quad

Ah, now the Quad is out of the bag I can relax not having to worry if I accidentally spilled the beans. My Limber is eager to be out and about, although the gun is on the back burner, both will have to wait for my Quad to arrive and even longer for it to be built. Starting to do some riveting on the...

Re: Gunner's Mk IV No.22 arrives

A few more parts cleaned up and primed but a bout of the heavy cold that did the rounds at work and the chesty cough that followed left me with little enthusiasm or energy for much of the last month. Other projects and side lines demand their share of the spare time as well. On the plus side an old ...

Re: Gunner's Mk IV No.22 arrives

After a very long day at work I managed to get a few more parts prepared and primed. So tired, so achy oh me oh my... more tomorrow if I can get my fingers joints working again.

Re: Mark IV Spud Box - more complex than it looks ...

Oh dear, I have to apologise, I find I have been sitting on a copy of the CES in a pack of information I got from Bovington years ago. There are also a set of detailed drawings with the packs. I got the MkI, MkIV, MkV and some V* stuff I think. We will just have to be careful as some drawings could ...

Re: Mark IV No. 30 – here we go again ............

Now I can assure you Chris that I won't be racing ahead, sorry to say, and it is a bit cheeky to always be benefiting from others hard work. All I can offer is to share any information that comes my way as like you I love the historical research. At the moment I have got side tracked from tanks rese...

Re: Mark IV No. 30 – here we go again ............

Hi Chris, Great to see your latest post. I want to get as many true rivets into my tank, so the extra information on what can be riveted up early on is a great help. Please continue to post such details during your build. On the topic of research, have you been through the Bovington archives to look...

Re: Gunner's Mk IV No.22 arrives

Did I say a few days, well 15 months have passed and I have just started priming some of the parts. My build will continue as a very slow one, but any progress is progress. I thought I had better get something done in case Chris gets Lisel's sibling finished and starts looking around for a third Mk ...

Re: Finish of Guns and Machine Guns

Good point Steve. The lewis guns installed on the Mk IV have a sleeve or jacket over the cooling baffles so maybe good take the coat of paint without effecting the operation. I will be very interested in following any research on this matter. Of course I will delve into my books, but don't recall an...

Re: Mark IV 007 Build

Well said. That is exactly how I feel about my first tank build. It really is in the spirit rather than a scale model, but it was my first build and I like it for just that fact, I built it and it ran. I look forward to reading the progress of the builders and also the interaction and banter. Happy ...

Re: Mark IV 007 Build

Steve, What did we ever do to you that made you open our eyes to the above build link. Now I am struggling just to get out of bed let alone think about building my model. Seriously though, I am absolutely blown away with his scratch building skills. It took me about 45 minutes to read his posts and ...

Re: Mk. IV No. 50 - Beutepanzer Female (Liesel)

Hi Chris, that is one of the photos I used for my reference. I also think it might have been a Mk V that I saw the other way round. I agree with pretty much all you say, but if I ever get going I intend to run mine through the mud just like my 1/8th scale Sherman :D . You are right though as far as ...

Re: Mk. IV No. 50 - Beutepanzer Female (Liesel)

The photos of Flirt at Lincoln seem to back up the information on the Right Hand side, the left hand side photos are inconclusive. However I did photograph some of their display photographs and one of them clearly shows both sides as Chris has the deflectors, outside top to inside bottom. Must leave...
