Re: Florians FAMO build

I like it. One of the best executed schemes I’ve seen.

Re: Turret Rotation Speed?

Thanks Mark, at least someone read the question! Yes, I’m aware 131’s turret rotates around about 1 minute for a full 360, though I’m not sure 131 is a good example due the damage it received? The Tiger I was famous for a slow rotation rate however, and I am looking into slowing mine down. Watching ...

Re: Turret Rotation Speed?

Thanks Mark. I’m after the speed at which Armortek’s Tiger I turret rotates.

Turret Rotation Speed?

Can someone do me a favour, time the turret rotation (360 degs) on the Tiger I with the more recent lazy suzanne ball bearing system? Much appreciated, thanks!!

Re: historical fake

Another option...... see if you can buy a set of steel road wheels from Armortek? You maybe able to sell your rubber tyre set? But then the track links would be wrong.

Re: historical fake

I’ve found, at one time or another, a wartime photo of just about every mix of feature on the Tiger I. But the exception would be the monocular gun sight on rubber tyre road wheels. I’ve never seen a picture featuring that. So if you want to accurately model that, best to find a tank for which there...

Re: historical fake

Hi Ivano, I have the 2010 ‘mid’ Tiger I. I think the only ‘mid’ you cannot accurately reproduce is one with the later style track links. The kit is a bit non specific, allowing you to adapt it to whichever actual mid you want. There were mid production Tigers in all theatres, East, Normandy and Ital...

Re: COVID19

Thank you Ivano,

I appreciate the ‘front line’ feedback. If Armortek do decide the thread is inappropriate, I’d be very grateful for a PM update!

Stay safe and thanks for what you are doing.

Best regards,

Simon

Re: Tiger I Adjustable Suspension

Thanks Adrian, but why has their position (above or below) and at times number (above and below) changed? Surely from above (inside the hull) would be better than from below, (extra holes in hull floor).

Tiger I Adjustable Suspension

I’m not sure when, but at some point Armortek went from fixed suspension to ‘adjustable’, where the fixed end of the torsion bars are fed into a ‘fixed end’ (CE0270, CE0271) held tightly from outside the hull side. But in addition to these fixings, there is also a means of clamping screws onto the ‘...

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Hi Vince, sometimes the pins were in the other side of the link, standing on top of the short pin of the lower track link retainer, so then they’ll protrude.
