Re: Torsion Bar

Hi Adrian, Thanks, reference torsion bar fixed end, the earlier type was clamped from inside only, using Helicoil reinforced thread. I assumed the steel screw behind the wheels was insufficient as it still requires clamping from inside the hull. The ‘O’ rings I find such a tight fit that even if I c...

Torsion Bar

Dear All, For models with torsion bar suspension; how do the ‘O’ rings affect movement of the axles? I have found ‘O’ rings fit so tightly that pushing axles into place past them has dislodged the brass bushings that were Loctited into place. Are they absolutely necessary? Also, with the adjustable ...

Re: Would Stiffer Center Springs Make Tanks Rock?

Interesting conversation/topic. I know later Armortek Panther (and variant) models have double torsion bars as opposed to earlier models with single torsion bars, but I’d be interested to hear what combination of factors you use Phil?

Re: Armorteks next model

Next Model? How about a comprehensive upgrade/enhancement line for older models? It could include for example, gun recoil for kits that didn’t offer this, the new turret bearings, Tiger I late style track links, and I’m sure much else I’ve not thought of. It might be an easy revenue stream? Also, ho...

Re: Armorteks next model

A long story, short! A long time ago, in Nebraska, I met an ex Iranian Army General, who’d been someone to do with tanks prior to the revolution. I asked him which tank did they prefer? I felt he was being polite, sensing where I was from, and said that while they greatly valued the hitting power of...

Super upgrade. If easy, why don’t Armortek offer it? Must surely be popular!

Re: Helicoils

Hi Yves,

Thanks for the reply. Did the Phantom helicoils fit without having to re-tap the existing holes? Do you have a source for them as I couldn't find after a quick search.

Kind regards,

Simon

Helicoils

Dear All,

I need to replace some of the helicoils in my suspension bars. Can you advise which make, type and size I need so as I can order the correct tools?

Thanks

Maybe a thread on stolen and/or recovered models? That way some reference for those buying second hand and for those hoping to be reunited.

Re: Per sonnervik R.I.P.

Very sorry to hear. I never met him, but would have liked too. He helped me out with some odd ball questions on details, where I couldn’t find the answer anywhere else. Condolences to his family and friends.
