Re: Magazine bags and pouches Bren Carrier
Hello Pieter, From Page 101 of Universal Carriers Volume 1 there is a stowage diagram for the Carrier Universal Mark 1 (Scout Role). In the front compartment to the left of the Gunner there is an ammunition bin that contains 6 Utility pouches. Behind the driver in the rear compartment there is anoth...

Re: counter balance weight size
Hello Adrian, I too have looked through my books but have drawn a blank. I know Bovington do have tank plans but don't know if they have any of a Grant\Lee with the M2 counter-weighted barrel. I have found this clip of the holy Grant which does show some details of the counter-weight and may suffice...

Re: British tanks internal colouring
Hello Derek, By the time the comet was produced turret interiors were Gloss White. Here is a thread in which Mike Starmer has comments and he is the authority on this subject. http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208/thread/1055211501/1055372628/Interior+color+for+British+tanks... Kind regards, Will.

Re: Are there any builds out there with the Mk IV Tank
Hello again,
Just got home and it is the French that had the scheme I like
.The Brits are extremely plain in comparison. I suppose a Mark IV in French service is a bit too far fetched. Green, Brown or Grey it is then.
Regards,
Will.

Re: Are there any builds out there with the Mk IV Tank

I have a copy at home but here is a link. http://www.abebooks.com/Armour-Profile-Tank-Mark-Foley-John/11229065271/bd Also the Bovington tank museu...

Afrika Corps Sand Colour
Hello Sean, Depending on how pedantic you are on the correct colour for your 222 there are a number of routes you can take from the Tamiya spray cans which have a general German yellow to a correct RAL colour match from some of these advertisers on Milweb. The trouble with this is the amounts and th...

Paint Supply
Hello Graham, I see that nobody has replied to your thread yet and that maybe because this question is raised so many times and we all have our own preference on type of paint and colour. I assume from the fact that you model 1/16th tanks that you know the colour you need and that it is likely to be...

New King Tiger
Hello Martin, I hope the new job is going well and welcome to the Forum. I could have saved you a lot of bother over this Dunkelgelb issue. The correct colour is RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb nach Munster and as others have already stated this no longer appears on the RAL chart which in any case has been modi...

50 Cal and the Firefly (British Tanks in General)
Hello Allan and Rob, That is a very nice 50 Cal !! and I can see why you want to fit it but many British Shermans (especially the valuable Firefly) were fitted with an all round vision cupola and when that was fitted the .50 Cal was removed and fitted with a .30 cal in lieu. The British crews with t...

Firefly Radio Box
Hello Allan and Tim, According to David Fletcher in Military Ordnance Special Number 19 about the Firefly he says that the designers of the Firefly turret originally intended the armoured box to counterbalance the weight of the 17 pdr Gun and only later was it decide to mount the radio in it. The li...
