Re: DB Early Panther G

David,
Looks like an interesting book. Esp worthwhile if there's some good images of the Ex-Littlefield Panther A, Now at Collings Foundation in Mass. That was a masterpiece restoration. Can never have enough "Good" Panther books!
Best regards,

Few updates on this old girl. Trying to get it finished before E8 arrives. A few more detail bits added. Re: Volute springs

Me as well, clean off oil with laquer thinner. Primer and paint. I painted mine with Modelmasters "gun metal" for a little contrast. But real tanks were probably "OD green everything" like Mike has done.

Re: Side panels misalignment

Hi Wael, A few fitting options: 1) File off casting to match flat plate. Re-texture casting if needed. 2) Somehow bring flat plate flush to casting (slot mounting holes for flat plate perhaps) 3) Try to split the difference - A little of 1 and 2 on both parts 4) Fill the difference with a putty like...

Re: HAVE YOUR SAY

Whew. My wallet can take a rest and maybe save for Hetzer. I was worried there for a minute - how to save for three Armorteks this year and next.  Churchhill will certainly be an interesting model - loads of details. Thankfully I can watch from sidelines. Id love to have one of each AT ...

Fantastic detail. Mind boggling! Getting even better with painting and weathering. My vote for "build of the year(s)".

Re: HAVE YOUR SAY

The Forrest Service has been secretly changing the orbit of the moon and causing Solar flares - I knew there had to be a conspiracy there! Its worse than I thought. Those darn Refublican - Demoflaks are at it again.

Sigh - we need another tank (and stiff drink).

Re: 3D Scanning Question

I think that method could work. Scanned mesh files typically take some manipulation and repair to make them actual CAD models. The level of detail achieved would only be as good as your source photos. And even then perhaps not that great for a 3D printed part or parts. I say the better way would be ...
