Re: Easy 8 - BobM

Mark, David, Simon, Jeff, thanks for the feedback. Jeff I let the 1000 lb lift table do the heavy lifting of the AT tanks. The barbells are just for decoration - to give the illusion of fitness. LOL. I'm either getting older or these models are getting heavier. 8)

Re: Easy 8 - BobM

A few of the latest shots of E8. Finally got the removable top and rear deck mounting done. Both rear and front decking are removable for access to internal components. Held in place by friction and brass lugs. The lugs hold the deck firmly in place at exactly the right height. Next up main motor te...

Re: Loading your beast into the car?

Definitely block the tracks front and rear to keep model from moving. I use 3x 3 post material cut into 45 degree wedge. I have F150 pickup and use wooden sled once in the bed. The sled has blocks etc to keep tank from moving. The sled also allow the tank to be pulled easily forward (toward rear) fo...

Re: Master track pin, anyone?

I make a Master pin. On the Panther G track I threaded one or two track pins for an M3 nut instead of the press nut thingys. I usually put a little dot of white paint on the tip of pin for easy ID but not required.

Re: Cactus Tracks - the company

Jerry Are you perhaps confusing Dave Spring with Bevan Johnston? Bevan made an M3 Stuart. Never an M5 version. Somewhere around 2002-2003, Dave Spring made 5 steel M5 Stuart hulls, with steel tracks - but never provided the turrets. They started out hydraulic drive, but I think they were converted t...
