Re: My Sherman - a 14 year project

Couple new updates on the Sherman. Spent about a week making custom screws for the gun mantlet. Once I got them done I realized I could have used some round face but flat bottom head screw (gunsmith screw). :x Instead I made them with the base 90 Deg. They look and work fine. Vince I was able to use...

Simon,
The grille is really nice. I like the small ribs with rivet plates at bottom - really look the part. Nice mods for sure. The lamps are really excellent! Bob

Really nice model Gunther. I hate to call it "cute". Baby tank with a TOW missile launcher! Awesome details! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Phil,
Just stunning on the detail and painting. I like how the tape peeled some of the paint - looks very realistic. If you do ground level photos it would be hard to tell your Chief is not the real deal. You seem to set the bar several notches higher on every build!

I'd take that reject bin. Better than I could make most likely. Work of art.
Nice work Mark.

Don't leave that 1/6 spanner where it can vibrate off into the 1/6 drive clutches! Fantastic detail.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Nice work Phil and Vince - you've taken this model to a new level. Those printed bits look awesome, esp if the floor is painted black for contrast. You've demonstrated the niche home printing can fill for customization and details!
Great stuff!

Martin,
Fantastic work on the tool box. Interesting that the tools are latched down -inside the box! German war time over engineering at its finest? LOL

Your fenders look great - that is a tough solder job to add the round bead. Weld beads look awesome.

Great progress!

Re: Mice in a Tiger

I worked with a guy who had Toyota Tundra 4x4 pickup (expensive rig). The rats or mice ate the wiring harness which Toyota brilliantly switched to Soy based from plastic based. Cost him about $8,000 to repair. That's a lot of quid! I have traps in my garage and catch 'em frequently. I didn't think a...

Tom,
Your FAMO is looking excellent. Amazing how a little wash makes the small details pop. The weathering is just right. I hope to see this brute in person sometime.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Phil Amazing details on your Chieftain - simply stunning. I really like the camo colors. Those helmets look like the real thing. You and your team of elves have worked round the clock on this project and it is fantastic. If you'd like to have a go at resin printing (Vince) send me the Sterling files...
