Re: Sherman DD

Hi David,
Always enjoyed your "special" projects. Good luck with the swim test. I agree with others - I would test in a very shallow pool for the first test! Really cool idea. I'd like to see more images of the props and drive system before the test!
Best regards,
Bob

Cool video and nice running ground. Your Panther sounds and looks great. The Leopards are very cool as well. The M3 wasn't much for making that hill - just like real tank! Thanks for sharing!

Re: Florians FAMO build

Florian,
Really Excellent FAMO! I love your Bridge as well! Been wanting to make something like that myself. How does it drive? Do you use track steering or front wheels steering only?

Re: Brian O’s Tank shop

Nice space and workshop Brian! Plenty of room for that FAMO.

Looks like you have plenty of smoke there, we do too. Probably not as bad a you guys at the moment. We're not evacuating just yet.
Best regards,

Re: My Sherman - a 14 year project

Hi Adrian,
Thanks! I think so too. Really nice on the Elegoo. Layer height 0.04mm. Text height (from or into surface) 0.25-0.30 mm, Text size 1.5 - 2.5mm high.

Getting ready to try the water washable stuff on the next prints.

Re: My Sherman - a 14 year project

Hello AT forum. Posting a little more progress on Sherman detail parts. I've been printing some of the smaller detail parts with pretty good results. Gas caps of all kinds. Experimenting with printing text on the parts with good results. https://i.postimg.cc/xd0F7qdT/Gas-caps.jpg https://i.postimg.c...

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.

Magnificent build Phil - really enjoyed your thread even though I didn't always comment. You took that one to new heights for level of detail. 10 days to ship to US is pretty darn good. No customs or Covid delays apparently. The new owner must be beyond happy with this one. Gorgeous model. The two c...

Heiko,
Another wonderful project! Really liking those tracks, machined wheels and rubber tires! Fantastic. That will be a nice runner with the drivetrain makeover.

Keep us posted on both (all) of your projects!

Re: Late Tiger 1

Hi Chris Yes very satisfying to watch CNC - esp when it makes parts correctly! Lots of head scratching  and problem solving if something goes wrong - like warped material = insert cleats are not centered on material. I would not attempt this project without CNC however. Yes lots of work ...

Re: Late Tiger 1

Adrian
I hadn't thought of that - retreads! LOL. Hopefully they last of few miles before ending up by the side of the road.

Simon I'm thinking of "retreading" all of the links not just the detail ones. A good bit of work for sure!

Thanks for looking in!

Re: Late Tiger 1

Wow 2018 since my last post on this subject - wow time flies. Been tinkering with the tracks for the later Tiger. Not sure if I will do this modification for all of the tracks. Lets call this an experiment! CNC machined an "ice cleat" insert for the track link from high strength grade aluminum. The ...
