Tracing its genesis to the tankettes of the 1920, over 110,000 variants of the carrier were built between the 1930s and 1960.
Carriers were manufactured by several countries – Australia, Canada, UK and USA and served in several conflicts across the globe.

The Armortek Universal Carrier kit

The Armortek kit is based on the Mark II version of the Universal Carrier. It will feature Horstmann spring suspension as well as a tow bar. On the remote control versions, the rear sprockets will be driven by a single electric motor through a differential. Steering will be, as with the real vehicle, through braking of the rear sprockets as well as by “bending” or “warping”  the tracks.

The Optional Accessories Kit (which consists of the following resin and plastic parts: 1 x Bren gun, 2 x Lee Enfield guns, 1 x water can, 1 x Oil can, 1 No 19 wireless set,  2 sets of seat cushions, 1 x radio operators cushion, 3 x fire extinguishers, 1 x shovel, 1 x spade) will cost £180 excluding VAT

Remote control options for Motion and Sound will be available. Pricing for these will be announced once the designs are finalised.

Over the course of WW2, over 10,000 Stug IIIs were produced, making this tank Germany’s most produced tracked vehicle of the war. The Stug III was a highly effective tank destroyer and was perhps the only German tanks to still see service after WWII – right up to the 1960s in the middle East.

This very popular Armortek kit came joint first in the survey we ran last year and is a highly sought after model. Last produced in 2013, the 2020 version will feature several improvements over its predecessor many of which were seen in the Panzer III we released in 2017 including re-profiled wheels and hatches.
