Produced from 1942 to 1944 the Tiger 1 (designation   Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E) is perhaps the most iconic German tank of World War II. Despite less than 1,400 being produced, its lethal gun and heavy armour had a powerful psychological effect on Allied troops.

During production, the Tiger 1 underwent constant improvements with modifications happening almost on a monthly basis. Tiger 1’s in the field were either modified by their crews or sent in, resulting in some hybrid versions.

The Armortek early variant Tiger 1 kit is the version from circa February 1943.  The most obvious visual indications on this variant compared with later Tiger 1’s are the fiefel air cleaner on the engine deck and rear of the tank, the raised commanders cupola, the early version of the mantlet and the lack of notched extensions on the front hull sides for tow cables. In addition, similar to the mid-life Tiger 1, the early tiger had rubber tyres.

Perhaps the most famous surviving Early Tiger 1 is Tiger 131 at the Bovington Tank Museum in the UK which still regularly runs at events throughout the year.

The Armortek Tiger 1 is sold as a kit for assembly and can be turned into an Radio Controlled (RC) Tank through the addition of options.

OPTION PACKS AVAILABLE:

Option packs bring the model to life through adding Remote Control (RC) Capabilities:

The Motion Option pack adds independent drive to each track through 2 high powered, hardened brushless motors as well as continuous 360 degree turret rotation and main gun elevation.
The Sound Option adds real life sounds to the model - including engine starting, driving, shutdown, main gun firing and machine gun firing.
The Recoil Option pack adds main gun recoil and LED flash when the gun firing sound is triggered from the Sound Option pack.
The Smoke Option pack adds exhaust smoke to the tank. When idling the volume of smoke reduces and then increases again as the tank drives off.
The Light Option pack adds two front lights that are controlled via an RC transmitter.
The Machine Gun pack animates the machine gun so that it can move from side to side via the RC transmitter. There is also an LED that flashes in time to the sound of the gun firing.
