The huge interest in German AFV’s has meant that in it’s five years of trading Armortek have produced more German tank kits than any other type. However, one vehicle has always been more desirable than any other and this of course is the King Tiger!
The launch of the King Tiger, ‘Tiger II’ (Sdkfz 182) took place at
Tankfest 2008, where, for first time the two King Tiger prototype models were on display.
Armortek are delighted to have the support and association of the Tank Museum for their most prestigious model to date. Having access to the unique collection of vehicles at the Tank museum which is located so close to our own facility in the South West of England has been hugely advantageous.
We are delighted to be able to support this charity in the excellent work they do and look forward to an ongoing working relationship with the Tank Museum.
Tank Museum Fundraising Manager Michael Bolton said;
"The Tank Museum has effectively been the inspiration behind this new Armortek King Tiger model which is based on one of the two King Tigers on display at the Museum.
Armortek were able to use The Tank Museum as a resource to create a superbly accurate model. Not only were they given a unique level of access to the tank itself but also the wealth of supporting material, which included documents and photographs held in our Archive and Reference Library.
We are working to increase the number of private companies we work with who can help us achieve our charitable aims. We hope that Armortek will see the value of working with a charity, which is mutually beneficial. Their support for us will ensure that our collections and expertise can be used again in the future and enjoyed by the wider public for generations to come."
