Out of curiosity, what is the idea behind the bushings in the gun pivots? Have you moved the pivots?

And what is that under your rear deck - are you building an engine compartment?

The idea behind the bushings was the great movement between the pivots so that is now better.
Under the rear deck is only space and I don't make a engine compartment.

Here the progress pictures from today.

I have put some special greese before assembly the axcels so I have no steel/aluminium contact.(galvanische working).

Also some working at the turret.


Everything goes well and now I prepare myself for the footbal match.

News for all,

This weekend verry bussy whit the Tiger.
First a installate a camerasystem 5,8 Ghz from the drivers point of view.


Also installate the axcel-system with all the questions a round it.


The rearplate making also progress and i made from M4-cup bolds the hinges.


Manfred has made his development and research abouth the electronics.

I have make a new and longer accutray.



Also I make the same turretroof mounting-system as Dale Jordan.



I build a aimpoint system in so you can see were the shot come out.

Hi Gerrit! Good work on your tiger, and I'm happy to see that you want to add a video system to your tank.
I have some doubts about the wireless signal passing through the metal hull as 5.8GHz suffers for any obstacle they encounter. You will probably put both antennas out from the tank for increasing video signal to the receiver/s.
Also, if you want to use only one transmitter there are video splitters avaiable on the market, they connect to any RC system (using a servo channel) and can control up to 4 cameras to be used by only one transmitter.
It is good if you want to use only 1 monitor.
Will you pilot the tank directly from camera view? Or you will use only to show the tank activity?
If you install a camera on the commander cupola, with a pan & tilt system, you can obtain over 180° of field of view (horizontal) and over 90° vertical.
In this way you can safely pilot the tank without directly seeing it.
I use fatshark goggles for my tank and I pilot it from the cupola mounted camera. The camera is actually hidden (partially) in the commander head.

Thank for the replay and I only use one camera for the vieuw and steering behind a screen.
I wil on a later moment look at your options Andrea because always can learn from your idea.
The transmitter antenna goes outside/mounting and Ifixed as it like real.
The receiver goes in the maitance box with the spare parts, tools and ect...
Can I look atthe forum to you systeem is made?

Hi Gerrit, my "FPV" (first person view) system is not mounted on an armortek tiger, however, you can see my tests on youtube:
The first test, tank not yet completed, camera wasmounted in a lower position, recorded with a good video recorder, but poor camera.

This is the last video I made, camera the commander head, it moves following my head movements while I watch images from the goggles. In this movie I used this configuration:
2.4GHz Airwave transmitter, 500mW 12V
DX201 WDR camera
RVOSD for on screen information (in the video the sensor were failed, as soon as I upload another video I'll show you the full functionality)
Fatshark rcv 922 goggles for video piloting the tank
Magtrack V2 head tracking connected with my futaba 35MHz radio transmitter.
Sorry, the recorder has a poor recording quality (I'm searching for another one) so the image quality is pretty good only on still images.

Now to your tank, I also wanted to use the tank aerial to send video, mostly because I did a funklenk tank with antenna mounted on turret side, but, 2.4Ghzand I think also more 5.8 cannot use that antenna for sending images.
I spoken with some friends, but never tested, so, if you want you can try it and see if it will be good.
As you don't have a commander cupola mounted camera you can hide the antenna inside a commander action figure, few plastic will not create problems to the transmission.
If you need pictures, I'll make them as soon as I re-open the turret.
