Have a look at:

to see how we got on when we spent a day at Bovington, on the Museums,
'Tank Experience Day'.

Why was Mark poking around the Chieftain. Is that a hint?
Do you have to wear the overalls. i have a nice ss panzer unifirm that would be more suitable.
If interested in any parts used in my builds contact me at johnfitzsimons@msn.com for a pricelist.

Hi mark & Gill,

Seems you have a great day,
i also have a tankexperience day in may 2010 ( also visit Armortek )
The tankride was a nice experience ( 3 rounds in the Koeweit arena )
was a little short.
We had 3 tanks to choose from: sherman, leopard and a chieftain,
i choose a leopard, it was amazing how smoot the suspension is of that tank.

Afterwards we had a guided tour in the museum, and we got a t-shirt of the
tiger 131

I'd love a go in a Leopard 1 8) 8) Note to Mark - I'd also love to have a 1/6th Leopard 1 - the best looking '60s tank IMHO

Anyways, looks like you had a good time :D :D

My memory of driving a 432 was just how hard you had to pull the levers in order to make decent turns. Quite a lot of the time it was two hands on one lever and no hands on the other

Back in the early nineties I got invited by my brother in law for a day at Bovvy, that he had purchased at an auction of things you couldn't buy. It consisted of a drive on the simulator, drove a training Challenger 1 on the ranges, visited the workshops, four course lunch in the Officers Mess and a visit to the Museum behind the ropes. Glad you had a good day Gill & Mark. Myself and John Davey went round the sheds the other weekend when we were down there doing demos. The amount of kit they have got in there is pretty awesome.

Dennis.

Looks like a great day of fun. I'd like a pair of them overalls! Lucky fellow to win a Tiger kit - made his year I'm sure! Looks like an awesome visit. Not many people get to see a ww 1 tank in their lifetime, much less get inside it! wow!

Best regards,
Bob
