Paint mix details wanted

Hello Joe, I have followed the paint details given by John in his Comet post.
I ordered BS 298 British Olive Drab, 400mls aerosol spray cans.

In the absence of a positive BS paint colour description I have settled on the above colour/type.

As I have often said to other modellers...it's 'my model'.... Mick

Hi All
I will bring a couple of samples from the paint I have bought from { www.rrservices.co.uk } to the Open Weekend for people top look at. Although will there be a built and painted Comet on show?
Also, I will bring some of my Comet photos on CDs for sharing.

Mike Starmer has written the definitive guide to "British Army Colours & Disruptive Camouflage in the United Kingdom, France & NW Europe 1936 - 45". This little booklet is chock full of all the info you'll ever need including colour chips in the back of the book which you can use to source the colour match you need. It costs about a tenner and is truly exhaustive and as I say the definitive word on this topic. You can get it direct from Mike_Starmer AT hotmail.com.

His advice to colour match SCC No. 15 Olive Drab Basic is as follows

5 x Humbrol 150 Forest Green
5 x Humbrol 159 Khaki Drab
2 x Humbrol 33 Black

As a follow up to this, for the inner colour of the Comet you need look no further than Hammerite's 'Hammered Silver' in the aerosol metals paint range, (available from B&Q).

If you look at the inside of the Cromwell or the Comet, and this is evident on those walkaround pics that have managed to get good shots of the inside, you'll see that the silver colour is not a straightforward silver but has a dimpled, hammered effect. This is reproduced almost exactly by the Hammerite 'Hammered Silver'. As I say, available in aerosol cans from B&Q.
