Hi Jeff, I admit I've been quiet on the Forum but I still visit and check out the threads about once a week. The KT and PII are very nice models but not for me. I haven't touched the tanks for a few months since completing the Sherman and I can't really justify another model just now. The boss says ...

Holger, I am not sure if you might have assembled the tensioning device slightly wrong. Your damage was caused by debris getting in the tracks and over tensioning them. A typical problem with the Tiger as debris gets caught between the two track horns and then gets pulled around the rear return roll...

Sherman in the Snow

I just spent the afternoon in sub zero temperatures giving the Sherman a run in the snow. It performed impecably and ploughed through everything, even the deepest snow. Compared to the Tiger its much better in the snow. The Tiger's tracks quickly get filled with snow which then binds up and starts t...

Nice winter scenes. For me snow looks great on christmas cards but when one has to rely on South Eastern rail to get in and out of London you can forget it!! Its been very cold in Kent and the pavements have been like an ice rink. No sign of gritters here either, and rumour has it the council never ...

I'm not surprised that this model won a prize it is amazing. I wonder what the engine runs like and how the tank is controlled because radio gear would not really have been capable of controlling it back then. i don't think proportional radio came into being until the 60's.

Jeff,

Excellent work as always, its a stunning model and looks toatlly real to me. I can imagine the fun you had with 84 tube spacers. Just like me cutting out about 180 ger teeth when I made my wooden clock.

If it wasn't for the build photos I would have said that you had invented a minaturisation machine (Fantastic Voyage film). It really does look the part. What does Simone think of the view from the sofa?

Jeff, I was suggesting the possibility that many people who visit the forum only go to the sections that interest them most, so they don't look at the complete forum. I looked at the membership list and see that there are over tree hundred members but on a fraction of that are what I would call regu...

Thanks for the very positive replies. I must admit I really enjoyed making this model and doing the conversion, its kept me busy for 21/2 years!! I'm dissapointed at only 5 replies but I think that many people that view the forum only go to the topics they are interested in.

Dale,

I must say this is a very neat and clean build. You are mustard at doing these little detail jobs and always come out with a superb result.
