Rommelkiste - PzIII Turret Bin

Dale - you were after some photos of the Rommelkiste. I haven't checked the kit shape for comparison but it did look as though it should be mounted higher than the kit fittings currently show. Hope these help. Stephen http://i390.photobucket.com/albums/oo349/bartokwhite/DSC01840.jpg http://i390.phot...

L60 ammunition

Tim Hope the following might be helful. I'm still looking for photos of the patronenkasten for the DAK or 10 Pz Div in Tunisia. I'd be very interested in L60 (KwK39) ammunition and the boxes. Great work on the bigger stuff. http://i390.photobucket.com/albums/oo349/bartokwhite/50mmAmmunition.jpg http...

Pz III Long Bins

Researching the Pz IIIs used by 10 Pz Div in Tunisia, I've come across a few photos which show a non-standard long bin on the front right catwalk. Frustratingly, I haven't yet found a good photo side on. I thought at first that it might have been a local mod within the Div but then I found this phot...

Re-shaped Bump Stops

Enjoyed yesterday at the SW Model Engineer Exhibhition, particularly with the Armortk stand providing the central attraction. Good to see Mark's Pz III running and Stuart Holden's making good progress. The bump stops on the Pz III are a quite distinct shape and with the help of the new milling machi...

Jeff Hi

Could you please tell us what paint you're using for the external surfaces? It looks just right for a mid 1943 Pz III? Do you know which RAL number it is representing? Thanks. Outstanding model, your skill is very impressive.

Easter Update

Can't keep up with the KT speed builders but ....... Just returned from a three week trip to Aus - managed to call Dale and talk tanks. With brain in jet lag mode, I finished the last of the suspension arms which will mean I can move on with the hull detailing. One task sucessfully accomplished toda...

Steve - I'd like to order a full set once we've sorted out the sizes. If you look at my post "Bovington PzKpfw III Ausf L" over on the Pz III section, I listed all 89 cone head bolts on the vehicle. (There are also four hex cone head bolts on the manlet). I've probably got photos of most of the bolt...

Dan - I'm in Australia for the next couple of weeks so can't photo for you but it was OK when I did a trial fit with the side plates. If necessary, you could move the batteries further to the rear and put the control unit in front of them either on its side or standing up. Regards. Stephen

Dale - I was thinking along the same lines. I'd also considered using plain metric hex socket bolts, putting a milliput addition on them and machining that. But the round head route sounds better. Look forward to seeing your results. I'm on a Quantas flight tomorrow and will be in Cairns on Sunday. ...
