Great looking gun Allan :D :D You mention that the barrel will recoil, will you be fitting a mechanism for this ? What's the weight of the barrel/brake compared to the original ? I've considered making a Firefly but wondered about the weight of all the barrel sticking out and how it would affect the...

M4A3 to M4A2 rear hull adjustment

I know the M4A2 has a steeper rear hull plate (10degs?) than the M4A3 but is this as a result of a longer rear deck, shorter sponsons or a little of both ? I've tried comparing the pictures in George Bradford's book but the length of the rear deck of his A3 is actually longer than the A2  Adri...

Lee, doesn't look like anyone's doing any work this morning (with the possible exception of Mark, as it is his forum  ) To answer the replies: Mark: Adrian > we did not feel that it would be possible to keep the dirt out, These bearings are a drop-in replacement for the bushes, but with rubber...

Metal bar sizes

I've stripped my Sherman down to the bare essentials and decided to re-investigate replacing the bushes in the wheels with bearings. I've bought a couple of roller bearings with oil seals which look ideal but when I tried them out the axle is quite a sloppy fit. The bearing inside diameter is 8mm bu...

Degreasing blind threads.

As part of an over haul, I've removed the sprocket gears from my Sherman final drive housing. The covers weren't thread-locked on, and some of the bolts had come loose, resulting in some damage to the sides of the final drive housing from the drive gears. I'd like to use thread-lock when I re-assemb...

I presume it depends on the make and size of the battery but for my Shermans I use 20AH AGM batteries with round crimp connectors bolted to the top of the terminals. However, having Googled Torberry I may start using the golf cart battery loom as it gives a reasonable amount of protection from accid...
