Just to say that I bought a decent engineers vice last week and once the bars were clamped in that it was quite easy to tap the axles from the ends. Mind you, some needed a much stronger "tap" than others  No signs of Loctite so it must simply have been the tightness of the fit that was keepi...

That's great Dale - many thanks :D :D That's an ingenious rig for setting the angle and yet beautifully simple. It hadn't occured to me until recently that the angle of the axle end will be unknown until it has been screwed into the swing arm. I had assumed I could just file the flats at set angles ...

Thanks for the explanation Dale - I can see that having such a small area of contact if attached at only one end would make them quite vunerable.

Dale, those hangers seem to extend over the turret roof - is the roof still removable with them installed ?

Thanks for the explanation and photos Allan, another excellent Tiger, and Sherman too :!: The annoying thing is that I've had a Badger airbrush for a couple of years and never really run any paint through it. I'm a great  one for "I just need ... before I can start", which tends to lead to ...

I'm certainly interested, though you're setting the bar a little high for me

Do you pre-shade the panels with a darker colour and then lighten the centres, or spray the whole panel and darken the edges :?:

Rich Stinchcomb has a couple of excellent close-ups on his Sherman DVD and there are also some shots of the Saumur Sherman on John Sander's website: http://www.tiger1.co.uk/vehicles/Saumur%20Sherman/index.html I must admit I haven't been able to work out how it was used as there seems to be too much...

Idler parts

Included with my Early Tiger I seem to have two almost complete sets of track tensioning parts. The only difference I can see is that on one set of tensioner arms (CE0312), there is a thread on one side where the axle passes through and the other side is not drilled. On the other set the hole passes...

Holger, could you possibly edit your pictures to be smaller (for instance 800x600), as it is very difficult to see your wiring with the pictures so large. Imageshack may have a way to do it automtically - I know PhotBucket has. The schematic at: http://www.armortek.co.uk/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=6...

Dale - thank you for the close ups of your design, they look to be something I should be able to recreate here. Roland - thank you for the explanation of your construction method, I can see now from your pictures how the part was built up. I've not done any silver soldering yet so these might be an ...
