Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Hi Vince,

Yes and that is an annoying error as that Frankenstein Tiger otherwise quite decently put together.
Another error on that one is the toolbox placed at the rear as it was not on Late Tiger1.
So remember never 100% trust a museum vehicle, look for periodic photos instead.

Kind regards

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Hi Vince and Allan, Regarding the bump stops (Vince, yours look awesome) many moons ago, back in 2011, Steve Winstone made them. https://www.armortek.co.uk/Forum3b/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3298 Maybe he can make a new batch if asked now with this new Late Tiger 1 release from Armortek. IMHO every Tiger 1...

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

Hi Vince, Glad you liked the Bosch light link, and I must say your welds look ace. Just one tiny constructive comment if you don't mind.... I always add my welds on an etch primed surface. IMHO such weld stick much better then on a pure aluminum/brass/steel one. Just my hard earnd experiece.... :( K...

Re: My PANTHER

Hi Michal, I enjoy your build and there is someting about a red oxide Panther thats for a fact :) One tiny, tiny observation on the jack.... The bottom plate shape on 20t short was square lowered not square ribbed. Can be seen here at the Panzer Basics site: https://www.panzerbasics.com/index_files/...

Re: Elephant Rain Gutter?

Hi all, Per is correct they are rain gutters. The Ferdinands left the Alkett factory to their units without their gun shield and those rain gutters. They was installed by their field workshop during the units training before Kursk. Just after Kursk survivors had some urgent needed overhaul in the Dn...

Re: My PANTHER

Hi Michal,

Nice work, well done!
Love your attention to details, my kind of modelling... :D

Just one tiny observation.
The 4 air intake grills had the slopes only on the outer sinde as seen here in the photo below.

Keep up the good work
Kind regards

Re: Panzer 3 upgraded track link

Hi all, Vincent kindly asked me to have a go on his Panzer III/IV links the same way as I did on the Late Tiger I and Panther links. The link is quite good as it is, in fact one of the better ones I have ever seen for any Panzer but still can be made even better. The link code is KGS61/400/120, type...

Re: testing new bosch headlights

Yes Chris I noticed that now.
Sadly someone has deleted that information.

But I remember that the 1:10 drawing in Panzer Tracts 5-2 was correct in overall size.
Total length: 200mm
Diam at the ends: ~50mm (the black bulb with 4 green squares a bit smaller)

Hope this helped

Kind regards

Re: Tiger 1321 rebuild

Hi Per,

Thanks, that 2:nd photo ends the discussion.
Now we all know how far out of the mantle we shall have our Tiger 1 turret MG.

My point was always look for period photos and never trust drawings unless they are genuine WW2 ones.

Kind regards

Re: Tiger 1321 rebuild

Hi Paul, Nice work well done! Here is a period photo of an Early Tiger 1 just like your 1321 Kursk one. As you can see the end of the MG muzzle is almost flush with the mantle, not as much as seen in the post war drawings above. A lot of other nice items is visible in the photo as well. Kind regards...
