Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent

With the gun in the crutch and the cupola stop engaged, the RCP sight is at 11 o'clock and the peri-binos at 2. So that doesn't really make any sense. Would they not then be roughly aligned with the front corners of the vehicle as well as giving the commander the most unobstructed view over the rea...

Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent

There must have been a reason for it, however obscure and how little used. My suggestion is that it was an aid for when the tanks were being transported in a non-combat zone with the turret traversed rearwards and the gun barrel secured in the travel clamp. This feature would put the cupola in a fix...

Re: Sound system & barrel recoil problems

Just spotted this thread and my advice would be to buy the batteries and then re-test. The industrial lab power supplies I work with are variable 0-36V 0-3A and I would not expect them to provide reliable results for the tests you are doing. As soon as you draw more current than it can supply then t...

Re: TB5 mini sound card problem

You may not have disconnected anything during fitting but maybe something was dislodged during the process.
Try removing and refitting every connector.

Re: TB5 mini sound card problem

Just a thought. I presume the speakers are mounted so that they face upward through the engine decking. The speakers I have for my Kingtiger have the connections on the rear side. Maybe too much insulation has been stripped off the speaker wires and they are shorting out on the hull or the speaker c...

Re: Bovington trip

They were running a Leopard 1, I've never heard engine noise like it! A few years back I was stationed at Bergen-Hohne ( the british army camp next to Bergen-Belsen, the concentration camp ) The flat I was in was about 50 meters from the range-road. When a convoy of tanks was going past, we could t...

Re: Tanks For Sale

I envisage the price list looking something like this 1) The wife is going to kill me 2) The wife is going to kill me even more 3) The wife wont kill me quite as much 4) Now the wife is really going to kill me 5) Maybe if I get this one for the wife, no turret for her to learn how to control, she wi...

Re: Barrel Recoil

A possible solution that may be worth exploring.
Switch the servo mount to the other side of the gun barrel and move the servo arm so it is still pointing downwards. Then the servo should whilst operating in its normal direction of rotation achieve the desired effect.

Re: R607FS RECEIVER

I would suggest a slightly different approach. How you have your Transmitter set up will affect how the Receiver responds First of all decide if you want one-stick or two-stick control and set your transmitter to that using the info that can be found on this forum. That is then your base-line should...

Re: R607FS RECEIVER

Just to clarify the matter a bit for others who do not work with electrics / electronics there are three normal ways to protect in the case of a short-circuit or excess current flow- 1) Fuse - will blow if the current flow exceeds its rating and will have to be manually replaced. 2) Circuit-breaker ...

Re: R607FS RECEIVER

For me it does not look like a short-circuit has caused it. If that is the case then the circuitry is poorly designed and inadequately protected. A short-circuit condition should either cause a fuse to blow or a poly-switch to trigger to shut off the supply. A fire should not occur under any expecte...
