Re: In memory of Gill Watkins

It is with heartfelt sadness we offer our condolences to Mark, Daniel and Sara, at this difficult time. I first met Gill many years ago and I remember feeling that I had known her for years, she had that effect. Her open, warm and engaging personality made you feel that way, part of her world. Many ...

Re: The future

Hi Monique and Kian, welcome and congratulations. Mark and Gill set the bar quite high, but I am sure you will raise it even higher. It looks like a "win win", you have an exciting new project, the Armortek community has a future and Mark and Gill get some well deserved " Mark and Gill time" Can't h...

Re: Another Centurion

Cent has now been christened, attended the classic car show with the Exeter Model Engineers The weather was not perfect, but we did have some fun tearing through damp grass. It did draw quite a crowd and several conversations starting ,"where can I get one of these" and " I must have one!". Met seve...

Re: Another Centurion

The cent is now running, just a few bits and bobs to do. It was constructed on a stand as my hydraulic platform was too small for the centurion. Sat on a cradle so I was able to test run with the tracks on and adjust/tweek things in situ. This was useful as my only means of getting it off the stand ...

Re: Another Centurion

Thanks Dennis, I did wonder about the amount of suck or blow required. I would have thought this was do-able with some Venturi application. The duration requirement should not be long, big diesels usually smoke on start up and rev up from tick over. It would be interesting to hear from the other cha...

Re: Another Centurion

First stab at laying out the electrics. After completing the bench test without any problems, we have settled for this layout, for the time being. IMG_0651.JPG IMG_0649.JPG The speed control module faces the motors and the aux module faces the space under the turret. This makes the wiring runs short...

Re: Adhesives

Steve, I have bought 480, both from a UK official stockist and from Ebay. The bottles, labels and contents was exactly the same in each case, Interestingly, both had Chinese writing, so I guess it comes from China wherever you buy it.

Re: Wanted!!! Broken Spektrum DX7.

Hi Kevin, haven't played with spektum for a while but, I think a lot of the mechanical parts of the spectrum 6 will fit your 7.
If you include the 35hz there should be a lot around, try your local model flying club.

Re: Drilling 2mm ss track pins

Hi PETER, the best way is to make a drill guide. If you have a lathe, drill a 2mm hole up the centre of say a bit of 12 mm dia bar. The length of the bar can be the same as the track pin less the head. Carefully cross drill the 0.5mm at the required distance from one end. There are various ways to d...

Re: Another Centurion

P1050725.jpg The first few joints was soldered with the end and centre frames bolted to the turret. The top rail was continuous at this stage in order to have a stand alone unit. Next it was unbolted from the turret and the rest of the rails cut, ends pinched and soldered in. The searchlight frames...
