Re: My Beaut Aussie Cent

More amazing stuff Stephen.
With the smoke, and then gun stab, there will be no more holy grails to crack?
Well done

Re: Mark IV No. 01 - "Kathleen"

Hope I’m not about to embarrass myself with my ignorance but...... aren’t those deflector plates meant to channel muck out through the hole in the inner side frames? Given that the track moves from rear to front it seems that debris would accumulate against the outer frame where the holes are covere...

Re: Mark IV Colour

Sorry (to an extent) for re-awakening the colour debate. Has anyone tried or got experience of the Vallejo Model Air acrylic in "Tank Brown" (possibly "Armour Brown") 71.041?
What are their paints like generally? The bottles seem a bit small for our models - rattle cans may be more use.

Re: Villers-Bretonneux

Hi Stephen, Amiens 100 would be a nice idea but the small matter of crossing the Channel, with a Mk IV under ones arm (or in the boot), might prove problematic. At worst will try for a "social" attendance - Mrs H always likes a weekend away, is pleasantly quite tolerant of Bovvy and I have yet to me...

Villers-Bretonneux

Dear all Another milestone / anniversary is upon us, perhaps not such a household name as Somme, Cambrai, or Passchendaele, but no less notable. Today, 24th April, marks the centenary of the first tank vs tank battle at Villers-Bretonneux. Three British Mk IVs of 1st Battalion Tank Corps, led by 2nd...

Re: 25 pounder tooling mark's

Hi Andy, regards from the other (better 😀) Island. A bit of rust is pretty common on sheet steel parts, especially in our high salt environment. As has been said, it’s usually just on the surface and will clean off easily. If you are concerned about heavier rust a dab or two of “rust eater” fluid fr...

Sym
Many thanks for fixing/reposting the images in this thread. I know this will be a great help to me, but this “how to” will also help others i’m sure.

Re: Absolutely nothing to do with tanks but...

Couldn’t agree more Adrian, it was like watching a sci-fi movie. What, with that and the surreal high quality video of a car “drifting” past Earth, did it really happen? Enough conspiracy theories still abound about the moon landings!

Hi Chris

Agreed, they're all good. I'm merely (more or less) quoting the powers that be :D

Too good to be true, surely, although what else could be the "best ever" Armortek model??
