Projects other than tanks

About two years ago I bought a decommissioned AST300 flight simulator, designed more or less for instrument training on prop engine aircraft, the computers although upgraded were old Microsoft NT and 2000 machines with a small screen used to plot the aircraft position, to cut a long story short, I t...

Re: Leopard 1A4

Just a few more pictures of the build, I wont bore you with all the details, but I wanted to be as accurate as I could, when researching the tools for the sides of the tank, there was one I did not recognise, it turned out to be the jack for lifting the engine decks and was housed in its bracket on ...

Re: Leopard 1A4

Thanks Armortek, thanks Frank, I managed to get some replacement track links from Veroma last year. There were a couple of visual discrepancies on the tank, no side skirts, main deck with cast front mudguards, and the rear of the tank with a square telephone box, the 1A4 had a round t/box, so mudgua...

Leopard 1A4

It has been a while since I last posted, most of my builds are finished, but I did find an early all metal tank, 1/10 scale, and probably from the 1980s it was in a sorry state that I have rebuilt Now I am not sure if this qualifies for off topic so before I post anything I will wait for Kian to let...

Re: Lithium Phosphate battery performance

Hi Chris, I bought a liFePO4 24v 20ah battery from Ping in China about 5 years ago, and fitted it in a tiger 1, the model only gets light use once or twice a year, but the battery keeps its charge, it has only been charged two or three times over this time, whereas the lead acid without use would be...

Re: My 222 revisited

Hi all this long running build is just about finished, I managed to buy some of the trial body panels, and some part formed bits and pieces way back at the 2007 open day, then bought wheels and tyres from Gill, everything else has been scratch built, it has been on hold many times while I built other...

It has been a couple of months since I worked on the 222, (built a conservatory and remodelled the garden) so it is now coming together, the drivers seat is finished, the wiring for the lights installed, and the gun mount fitted, a few pictures of my progress http://pic80.picturetrail.com/VOL814/886...

All metalwork for the gun and mount finished and painted with a base colour, the pedestal sits on its own slightly raised sub-floor and will bolt through the main floor last couple of pictures showing some more detail and the sub-base which is resting on a roll of duct tape for the pictures regards ...
