Re: Tiger Emblems Abt 503

Yes x3 turret numbers one one set on each side plus the stowage bin and x2 balkan crosses one on each side. By displaying no Abteilung markings the enemy would struggle to identify individual units and also work our how many Tiger companies are in the area, it would seem that s.Pz.Abt.503 had abando...

Re: Tiger Emblems Abt 503

Throughout the history of s.Pz.Abt.503 I can find little evidence of the Abteilung using its divisional emblem painted on their Tigers in the early days before Kursk some Tigers had the divisional emblem. No Tiger from s.Pz.Abt.503 during the Normandy campaign had a divisional emblem on their Tigers...

Re: Tiger Emblems Abt 503

s.Pz.Abt.503 only has a limited number of pictures from Normandy of Tiger I and I dont recall seeing a divisional marking on them , later in the war the Germans stopped placing divisional markings on their tanks in order to stop them doing identified by the enemy having said that the other 2 Tiger A...

Re: New Member - Future Builder

Don, it would depend on the factory some would have emitted tools later than others but you would be looking at late 44 to early 45, it was October when jacks were no longer fitted to Tiger II this would be the same with Jagdtiger.

Re: New Member - Future Builder
Interesting. I was under the impression that the reason most of the JadgTigers aren't seen with a complement of tools was due to them being disabled by their German crews with charges inside the gun and cabin that caused the tools to "blow off" due to the explosions.
Towards the en...

Re: New Member - Future Builder

It's thought only the Jagdtiger with Porsche suspension had zimmerit I have never seen anything to suggest otherwise. Schwere Panzerjager Abteilung 653 was the only Schwere Abteilung to be fully equipped with Jagdtiger, many were used individually or only at zug level, around 80 were built and almos...

Re: 31st Jan 2020 - new kit announcement

I think the universal carrier will prove to be a popular model. One thing I have noticed is that the kit will come with steel tracks is this correct and can we start to see them more often on new releases.

Re: 2003 Tiger 1 Mid landed in Belgium

Best books would be Tigers in Combat Vol 1 to 3 the English versions are long out of print but in German its readily available then you have the series of books from Thomas L Jentz, D.W to Tiger I, Tigers at the front and Tiger I and II combat tactics, steer clear of anything from Waldemar Trojca hi...

Re: Armorteks next model

You can count on Armortek producing a Tank/AFV which you hadn't thought about but still has the WOW factor as for which era well this would be anyone's guess, I'm intrigued.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017

the Picture shown is for a Heer Abteilung in Italy which used different markings and layout. the think about s.SS.Pz.Abt.102 is that the numbers you used are all far too neat the Abteilung used thin hand painted numbers yours look far to neat and a little on the large side however having them lean t...
